I saw this comic ages ago and it’s always stuck with me everytime I watch a Trek episode. Anytime a crewman makes some metaphor it always ends up like this. Title is in reference to it happening in Subspace Rhapsody.
Crew is all in the ready room talking about how they sang. Spock shows the little graphic of the Enterprise going along opening space like a zipper. Pelia says “It looks like a zipper. This begs the question, might it function like a zipper?” Pike says basically the same thing and then Spock says “Potentially. If we combined shield harmonics with the Heisenberg compensator. You’d have to connect both to the deflector array and generate a beam.”
From Zipper.
Reversing the polarity has a 50/50 shot
“We’re both reversing the polarity. We’re confusing the polarity.”
I’m partial to a tachyon beam myself.
That’s true. You’re either already using the right polarity, or you’re not. 50/50
compensating
My favorite example from TNG (s4e16 Galaxy’s Child) is when Geordi has to “sour the milk” to detach the space-faring infant. It’s also the awkward Dr. Brahms meets holo-Brahms episode. So awkward.
Overlord (anime) is basically that half of the time. Eminence in shadow also
Also buggy from one piece and king from one punch man
Ci Ci Ciaphas Cain, hero of the Imperium!
