Feels like a weakness some days.
Love you guys. Make sure to tell your friends and family you love them too. Never know what they might be dealing with and it could help more than you know.
Chief engineer may be a particularly stressful job, especially when dealing with temporal mechanics, plus a well-meaning though demanding S.O., making time for your child, managing PTSD from that imaginary 20 year stint… what was I talking about? Eh screw it, let’s just head to Quark’s for a pint, a round of darts, and wait for this whole thing [existence] to blow over.
Don’t forget the time you watched yourself die, then went back in time to take his place in causality.
Or the time you lost your daughter and she grew up feral on an abandoned planet.
I was trying to be delicate with the whole “temporal mechanics” wibbly-wobbly, timey-whimey thing, but no no, let’s put it up on front street. Bartender…
youre the most important person in the universe?
And a union man, with a smoking hot wife. A war hero who then got assigned the safest job in the fleet before becoming the highest ranking NCO of an alien tech outpost. And don’t forget those sexy Irish pipes.
We should all be so lucky to be Senior Chief Miles O’Brien.
You forgot to mention spending 20 years alone in a cell after murdering his only cell mate. But it’s okay, so did he.
Hey, O’Brien is a fan fav for good reason!
Stamets, we love you very much. If you ever come by I’ll have a hot plate of food and cold glass of refreshment for you.
Chief is probably my fav, so I see you’re as an absolute winner, the man DID succeed in making Cardassian replicators cook a decent bowl of oatmeal after all (his wife sucks though).
Agreed! Chief O’Brien is awesome but I skip any Keiko centric episodes. Thankfully there’s not too many.
Hey, don’t worry, I just cut off that guy’s head and scalped him for my own amusement.
For context:
He’s a union man so you could’ve done a lot worse
The father of every child in the village?
https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0112966/
I kid you not, watch the film (it’s pretty good) there’s no non-ginger children in the whole village. Colm Meaney’s character fathered every child in that whole village, and I refuse to believe otherwise.
Edit: I don’t know what you’re going through, but I personally hope you can hang in there with us. I enjoy this community immensely, and you’re one of our founding posters.
Edit 2: I just noticed the title. That’s my favorite Picard quote, and one of my favorite quotes ever.
You must not only take carefully managed risks, but you must take the correct risks.
