I’d be interested to see whether this holds for all the COVID variants. Especially since the virus is now endemic and will continue to mutate. Obviously, they’ll keep researching and we’ll see in time.
I’m mostly half-serious.

I’m an introvert with very low social needs. During the pandemic it took months of quarantine for me to get lonely, and nearly a year to realize I was touch starved.
But to answer your question, when I’m in a relationship I don’t get lonely and if I’m single I rely more on family for my social needs.
She (somewhat jokingly?) told my family that she didn’t want kids at thanksgiving. Everyone (including her) knows that I want kids. She had been somewhat indecisive in the past, but it became clear to me that our long-term goals didn’t align. We talked about it and eventually broke up.
Time to go back to making veggie “burgers” out of portabella mushrooms and beans lol
Vine was great for the user but it was hard to monetize. There are still some vines that I remember to this day. Fun while it lasted
Watermarks!! Just add that cute Lemmy watermark to all Lemmy posts! That will make people come over here for sure!!!
“What of the tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians killed before this attack?” some may ask. Our response is simply that we aren’t going to engage with that because it would be too hard. We also won’t be addressing Palestinians living in refugee camps without access to clean water, electricity, or housing. Others may ask, “Isn’t it your responsibility to provide context, particularly on thorny issues such as this one?” To that, we merely say: No, shut up. You’re being annoying.
Damn these guys are good. Managing to satirize the media, take a hands-off approach, and still raise valid points all in a couple paragraphs.
What does that have to do with moderation.
Also, have you ever tried posting OC? It’s not as easy to make a group of strangers laugh as you seem to think. Hell, most people here just repost from reddit.
Reading this comment, I think you may be right. It’s just outside my control. It is frustrating to spend time editing images and trying to create something funny only for it to be taken down. But maybe there’s a lesson to be learned here in not letting it bother me so much.
I hesitate to do this because I don’t want to get the post removed, but here are the memes that were taken down. Judge for yourself if they’re bigoted or as light-hearted as I think they are: https://imgur.com/a/8oNroeo
Maybe that’s what’s happening. I just don’t know where the line is anymore. Feel like I have to stick to “I can’t function without my coffee” type memes.
I’m going to respectfully disagree; we should not leave things entirely up to the mods. The rules should be clear about what is or isn’t allowed in the community. Having vague rules that leave it up to mod discretion is a recipe for the mods to take things down for arbitrary reasons (e.g., a liberal mod taking down anything conservative). It is clear to me that this is already happening, because I made a meme complaining about the rules and that was also removed.
Is that… Colin Powel with a crack vial?
And yet we all still clicked
I’m going to go with good old fashioned, “extra luck”. Never know when it’s going to show up, but it would definitely improve your general disposition when things tend to go your way.
I’m trying my damndest to ignore Musk. I invite you all to join me
You should edit this to say: Single People of Lemmy: Why are you single? Otherwise you’re going to get a bunch of joke answers.
The last time I was single was during the start of the pandemic. I didn’t feel comfortable putting myself out there, for obvious reasons.
Unpopular take, but reddit r/BDSMadvice probably has a ton of information on this built up over the years
I have what I call a “Song of the Day”. Every day, it seems one song wins out and is on replay in my head. At the end of the day, I realize that it was the song for that day :)
