European Union legislators reached agreement on Thursday (16 November) on a new directive that will see jail sentences of up to 10 years for the worst polluters and companies fined up to 5% of their global turnover.
The 10 year jail time is just for when you throw your cigarett butt on the ground, CEOs will pay max 3%, and because it was the first 5 times they get 2.5% less.
