Don’t agree with the article at least re: Ukraine. The defence of Ukraine is a just war. Allowing Russian to succeed in incrementally taking bits of Europe is not acceptable.

In the united states, mainstream media and elected members of various congresses are very big on patriotism because it lets them turn off their brains and pretend that nobody else can use their brains either. Of course this meshes perfectly with the military industrial complex.

Patriotism, xenophobia, nationalism, racism, these are very difficult to combat and we need to be on the lookout for them.
