I was wondering , if you will be ready to work fof an organisation that you oppose ideologically , for instance you are against big oil but you get a job interview in exxonmobil with good pay , would you consider it ?

*Edit : Recently a friend of mine got a marketing job for a company that had shady business practices , selling their product to gullible parents. Since it was a marketing job , the pay was good but my friend left it within a week , saying it does not suit his ideology.

Depends on how far off we were.

I’m against big oil but currently we need oil to function.

I won’t work for Amazon because I don’t like their core values.

There are other companies where their core values just don’t align with mine. I won’t work for them.

Currently working in oil and gas again after trying really hard to get away from that after working in a related industry for the last 10 years. I have mixed feelings about it, but my commute went from 75 miles/day to 3, I get to spend 3+ more hours a day with my family, and I am paid more. The benifits for me, monetarily, my personal environmental impact, and on my mental/family health are worth the compromise of how my work impacts the world. At the end of the day, my chair would be filled with someone else if it wasn’t me. I am happy that because it is me, I am limiting my envionmental impact even if I don’t agree with the industry.

I love electric cars but let’s be honest. We are still an oil based economy.

I don’t oil companies are “evil”. Well I opposed to fracking because of the toxic mess they create but otherwise they’re no more evil than many other companies
