If Truss and Kwarteng had instead come out with a good budget which would improve the lives of 99% of citizens but at the expense of the rent-seeking hoarders of capital I think the same thing would have happened.

That is very very easy to say, especially when they didn’t. Other budgets were not unfunded messes which sought to grease their mates’ pockets (so much). They thought they could fuck about and do what they wanted.

Became Prime Minister, crashed the economy with Kwasi Kwarteng, killed the Queen, then said it wasn’t her fault and that they should have gone further with their mini-budget. Now she’s a Trumpette.

Why are they meant to be focussed on anything, do they have a manifesto which says they only do that? They have done stunts related to Trump before (when he was in the UK), so this isn’t out of their modus operandi.

Truss has kept herself active politically, so she’s fair game. She hasn’t been held to account for what she did, and she hasn’t allowed herself to be ignored by maintaining her grift.

I can’t imagine it cost that much to do it, it also puts the focus on her work trying to get Trump elected, and reminds everyone (or even informs Americans) of what she did. I assume LBD are also trying to help derail the Trump campaign.
