We should be able to respond with varying degrees of enthisiasm: Thank you! Alright then. Hmph Meh Eff off.
You know… For sentiment analysis.
People hurt themselves that way. Play it safe, walk slowly to the fridge and back.
I mean… We’re still unwinding injustices related to kidney transplants.
It’s 2024.
The video title is “Depressed” not “Depressing.”
He based that on the suicide rate. It’s hard to have a metric for happiness/depression, but that’s a credible one.
The article took liberties with the message.
He spoke directly with many people across South Korea. Interview style and not coming at it with a load of certanties.
By the second sentence he said, “South Korea.”
I don’t know why so many people here have to imagine a slight and then react against it.
Doesn’t matter, it’s in there. Even feeble attempts to find it using a search engine surface that theory.
I’ve done it a few times today. Each with less than 2 minutes spent.
Genesis 6 through 9.
You’re asking me to provide a reference for the biblical flood story. When I say it’s in there… It’s in there.
I get that you don’t know me, but the second sentence of your post isn’t helpful.
That’s quite literally in the Bible. People are stated as having extraordinary lifespans (e. g., Methuselah).
Then there was a flood after which people saw a rainbow for the first time ever. Gods promise not to flood us again.
The implication seems to be that the earth was in a firmament bubble and the bubble burst, sending down water. Then we had direct sun and not the filtered kind that He* created us for.
No longer in our best element, we die earlier.
I’m not saying the above is true, I’m saying I’ve heard this for decades now and it checks out against biblical description.
They want out and haven’t found a way to make money off of voice assistant. They’re just slowly killing it.
It’s part of why I’m pushing hard on my HA and hoping their voice efforts at least give me a solid voice experience at home.
HA = Home Assistant
Edit to say: I get that people are frustrated that previously good (mostly) free solutions are going away. I’m not defending tech, but I do see their business need here. Google has long lost my trust anyhow.
I’m not upset by the down votes, but 8 do wonder what they mean.
To me the only safe thing to do is pull back and build my own. Raspberry Pis aren’t expensive.
No one said “free world is blameless.”
You inferred it somehow and railed against what no one said. Many do, however, identify most closely with nations not ruled by an autocrat or dictator.
That the liberal countries are most likely to reject the invasion of another free country is not surprising and the “free world” is an apt descriptor for which countries are most likely to support Ukraine.
But “free world” doesn’t mean blameless. No one asserted that.

It’s seen as what-about-ism.
Painting everyone here with incredibly broad brushes and very certain tone means you’ve lost the trust and good will of your readers.
They then see what I said in the first sentence of this comment.
It didn’t need to be that way. You’re on Lemmy. It’s one of the places a person is most likely to see frequent criticisms of US warfare by US citizens. But you’re acting like the actions of an aggregate nation are the reflection of unanimous and ongoing support.
It’s not an accurate perspective.
You still sound absolutely certIain that everyone here is as you describe. And that means you’re wrong.
Please stop, breathe, and recalibrate. Because done differently, you’ll find many here agree.
You’re making way too many assumptions and I think that’s part of why you’re not being well received.
Can you examine your own certainty and superior tone when, to my knowledge, you haven’t asked a real question yet? You seem just know.
And, no, you initial exclamation having question marks just makes it an incredulous exclamation. Not a question.
What do we gain by judging them?
Asking honestly and to whoever cares to reply.
Biden is likely to go out and wring his hands about the difficult situation for everyone involved in the conflict. He’ll show it is something he thinks about, then it will (likely) decrease the pressure on him.
Because he wrung his hands on a stage and/or into a microphone.
My theory is that people think that counts as being heard.
Edit: my apologies if my earlier brevity sounded like a dismissal of your point. I was attempting to agree and, well… didn’t provide enough context.
Thank you for the question.
The care bear Dems will hold hands and care the situation away.
Fighting for anything is only just starting to be considered. But it’s so very late, now.
Hope we never get to what you describe. We need the laws and LEO to do what’s right and keep things from sliding. Very hard to know that may not happen and I deeply wish Biden held himself to one term.
He has a considerable polling and enthusiasm gap now - and this isn’t the time for that to be true.
As a someone on the left, few things are as persuasive and soothing as wrung hands.
Why would Iran want Trump??
The Red Sea is a corridor of piracy. That Iran appears to be using it as an opportunity for broader conflict doesn’t make it tied to Israel; it makes it tied to Iran.
Now, both the US and Iran are using proxies, so the secondary conflict area may not quite be what it is otherwise, but if the US pulled support for Israel, free passage through the Red Sea would still be of strategic value.
Mush like the seas around SE Asia.
Now who in the hell downvoted you?
Enjoyed your reply and enthusiasm.
