I’m back on my bullshit.
I think one reason is that the stockbrokers make profit off of every trade through commission. The more trades, the more money they make. Thus, they would lobby to make it legal. Furthermore, limiting number of trades would upset traders by restraining their ability to trade, which would upset a voter base. There’s really no one that would care enough to provide the political capital necessary to implement the limitation.
The investment bank already does that and calls it commission. It’s basically how the Wolf of Wall Street’s main character got started: commission on penny stocks.
Metallica swore to never sell out
They tricked me too. Then that Napster thing happened.
I didn’t see in the article how much advanced time the warning would give. 10 mins vs 1 week would be a major factor in how people respond. As someone that’s mostly lived in Florida, I have experience with hurricanes. Usually, most people are somewhat minimally always prepared for a hurricane by having batteries, candles, flashlights, etc., but no one really gets the perishables until 2 days before when the forecast is more certain where the hurricane will hit. Depending on the strength, some people will evacuate too. However, I’m interested in learning how people would prepare for an earthquake 🫨
Maybe teach people how to respond to the warning beforehand. This should have a plan on how government will organize the preparation, should their be an evacuation or whatever else.
We want true panic. No one is going to lose their shit for nothing. We want there to be a very good reason for irrational overreactive self-preserving behaviors that are ultimately damaging. lol jk 😜
I think it’s only the 2nd:
Scientists have long feared TR4’s introduction into the Americas. Still, Stuart Thompson explains for the Conversation, the infectious outbreak is not wholly unprecedented: During the mid-20th century, a related strain of Fusarium wilt destroyed plantations across Latin America, paving the way for a shift from the predominant “Gros Michel” banana variety to the “Cavendish” version commonly seen today.
Also, Fusarium is known as Panama Disease.
Yeah, that’s my point. What does it matter that they got better because they think they should get better? To me, what matters is that they got better, regardless of the reason. Bonus: they got high on ecstasy while under medical supervision.
Option A: Take a pill that doesn’t feel like ecstasy and no one gets better.
Option B: Don’t tell patients that ecstasy makes them feel better. Give them ecstacy. 20% of patients get better.
Option C: Tell patients that ecstasy can make them feel better. Give them ecstacy. 40% of patients get better.
Personally, option C seems like the most effective and thus preferred option. I don’t see any downside whatsoever.
around 90% of the participants in Lykos’s trials guessed correctly whether they had received the drug or a placebo
I understand the logic with using a placebo comparison, but who cares if people got better solely because they know they took ecstasy?
Same for dogs. When my cat was killed, his dog-sister was in despairing grief for weeks. I’d hear her howling throughout the day, she stopped eating, and barely did anything all day. For the next few months, whenever she would hear/see a cat on tv or smell anything that belonged to the cat, she would get lively and attentive, as if her missing sibling was coming back. It was terrible to witness.
I’ve been buying one every year since they came out. I love how the week starts on Monday.
How’d you get ChatGPT to read the file?
If mice ever become the dominant species, they’re going to start off so overpowered with advancements in medical treatments.
