Not exactly like this, but I think most people think on some level that their job is one of (if not The) most essential of the company.
CEO, CTO, Sales, Devs, managers, Product owners, QA, data scientist, factory workers… each one is essential and most don’t realise how important the others are.
I love the idea that we could need a dedicated chip to parse web pages 😂
that is only a subset of turing machines
What game was it playing ?
Thank god we don’t have to deal with costumers, imagine what outfit you’d have to wear to deal with them. And to make it work you’d probably have to wear make up too, it’d feel like halloween everyday.
Thanks now I can visualize how that would work, it’s actually pretty cool. And the reasons is good, i can see myself doing tourism in a place like that for this reason.
That’s still very fast
You are forgetting the time it takes to copy the data to and from these cards. Data may be transported, but it is not usable until you copy it. Copying 20 TiB is probaply going to take some time
They host and serve the data which cost a lot of money, they are not charging for it they are asking for patronage for those who want to. vip doesn’t get you much apart from the feeling of participating (I’m vip). It’s not different from lemmy, instance hoster ask for patronage to cover the costs, even though the data is produced by users.
Not necessarily. I think that lying requires intent. Someone could tell me something verifiably false without lying because they truly believe it to be true.
Contrary to what I (you) think, most other people are just as smart as me (you), their opinions and behavior that I (you) think are stupid are based on their personal life events and experiences, instead of labeling them “morons” it’s better for me (you) to try to understand where they come from and why they think and act the way they do.
Also: if I don’t realise how stupid I was yesterday, that means I still am today.
I don’t understand why it was put in the middle, it should be in the lower right corner, lowest power, and highest difficulty.
