They’re so mentally fragile and easy to manipulate that I feel like Fauci could “warn” against drinking pasteurized milk and getting vaccinated and the problem would solve itself.

I slightly disagree with this point, I think the first time a single NATO boot hits the ground in Ukraine Russia will see it as an escalation and respond in kind. They’ve been posturing and playing a game of brinkmanship for decades and lately they’ve started probing NATO defenses in Poland.
Call me crazy but I think Putin wants this to escalate so he can draft every able bodied person and enact a “Total War” policy.
So if we’re going to put boots on the ground, we need to put as many as possible right away

There’s zero genetic diversity at this point so any future generations would either be inbred and full of genetic disorders, or crossbreed with other species and not actually white rhinos anymore.

Some of those that don’t find it intimidating do find it tiring. I grew up using MSDOS and later Windows 3.1 when it came out. Most of what we did was in command line and having everything in a GUI is just a QOL upgrade you don’t really want to come back from.
I’ve been using mint on my laptop for a few months now and it’s great, but like you said there’s still some things that require command line tinkering and I just don’t have the energy for it.
It’s the same reason I like console games, they just work. Don’t get me wrong, the console modding scene is non-existent and any kind of customization is generally out of the question, but it just works, and it works the first time every time.

That’s the thing though, you can get devices from other manufacturers and you can get unlocked devices with Android. Those things aren’t even options with Apple.

Apple is so locked down I fail to see what the appeal could be in the first place, there’s very little customization, only one hardware manufacturer, and they’re more guilty of anyone else in the market of planned obsolescence.

Global warming can actually increase volcanic activity by reducing pressure on the crust as ice melts. Increased volcanism can accelerate global warming compounding the issue.

It’s worth noting that steel reinforcements drastically reduce the possible lifetime of a concrete structure. It’ll eventually rust which causes it to expand inside the concrete which will cause the concrete to crumble.
