Could you elaborate, please? I tried looking it up and I only found a post from 2010, asking if VBA for Access and Excel will stop being supported in 2012" and a couple articles that state how much MS apparently dislikes VBA (the lack of some feature-updates are shown as evidence for that).

I currently rely on a couple VBA scripts at my job that I wrote myself. I understand that they likely won’t just stop working tomorrow (too many companies use VBA in important documents), but if it’s already clear what will replace VBA sooner or later, I’d like to know so I can get a headstart, kind of.

The initial prologue cutscene in Okami. It’s about fifteen minutes and unskippable. But, the lore being delivered by textbox, you can’t just do something else because you have to press a button to advance the text.

I love that game dearly. If I had to pick one game as my most favourite of favourites, this would be it. But please, let me skip the first fifteen minutes once I, iunno, progressed beyond the tutorial.

This seems to be largely an American phenomenon, that people sue the maker of a product for themselves failing to use the product correctly, no? Or at least I can’t remember a single instance outside America where either someone sued the producer for using a product incorrectly or the producer pre-emtpively puts warnings on for ridiculous stuff to not get sued if people try these things.

Either way, good to know that cotton swabs were primarily made indeed to clean ears. I don’t use them for that, but it always weirded me out when they came in those pastelle color packages with openings like tissues, perfect for a bathroom, but someone said “Yo, don’t use them for your ears! They were made for swabbing grease off motor chains.”

I honestly think that content on YouTube has gotten better and better. Not the systems of YouTube, mind you, just the stuff that people create. But maybe that’s because in the last year or so I’ve been watching and discovering a lot more educational YouTubers (think Tom Scott, Münecat, Real Engineering, etc). among the exclusively funny stuff.

Oh yes, I did read that sentiment elsewhere, too, and that’s pretty much the only way I can get behind the weird/nonsensical chemistry. It’s just a bit unfortunate that the reveal of the simulated (and melting reality) is explained only a couple dozen hours into the story. So I feel for the (admittedly small) subset of players who wrongly learn that this is how chemistry works before being able to make the mental leap that it’s possibly intentionally this weird and unrealistic.

Ugh, I used to highly defend Israel like a decade ago. And I thiiink back then the IDF was much less hostile in their actions plus “Pallywood” was much more prominent. Speculation: It could be roughly okay to extrapolate the results to the greater NMS community, because their sample size and variety seems to mostly correlate to the age and geographic location of the gaming communities in USA, Brazil and Europe (the bulk of their respondents). Without knowing the actual numbers, I can imagine most of the NMS players sit in those three regions and with about a 2:1:1 ratio.

I watched it just yesterday and even though the maths gets over my head sometimes (especially here when she demonstrates the analytical solution with the Schrödinger equation thing), she’s really good at explaining these concepts.

The only thing I didn’t quite understand, and maybe I just didn’t pay attention in the video: If electrons aren’t particles but waves, what does it mean for an atom/molecule to have x electrons? Are “two electrons” just a more intense wave than “one electron”? And this electron wave… wouldn’t it constantly change its position due to it being a wave (stuff needs to move to create waves, right?) or is that what physicists are talking about when they say the probability of the electron to be at location y?

Interesting. I doubt my next statement, but I have to wonder if this is a setup that was carried over from when before gas stations were self-service (I was actually shocked how you used to not be allowed to refuel your own vehicle). Maybe something along the lines of “This setup is cheaper to run and if it’s only the underpaid employees complaining about a less-than-ideal way to fill up tires, that’s a cost I’m willing to eat.”

Don’t you fill your tires at the gas station? Here in Germany they have a stationary compressor with a hose (that doesn’t sound like it’s the correct word) that’s about 5 m or so and the buttons to fill in or release air are at the station itself. So you connect the valve and then have to get up and walk away to push the air in.

At the risk of going off topic a bit, I am very confident that there will be a plethora of new areas with loads of content coming from modders as soon as the Creation Kit drops. With Skyrim, adding new areas was often slightly awkward because you had to make it a dungeon that would then maybe lead to a bigger, open area simply because the Skyrim “overworld” was relatively crowded already and it would easily risk breaking other mods that added stuff on the main area. But in Starfield there is so much empty space on the three dimensional galaxy map that it’s virtually impossible that two distinct modders would choose the same exact spot for their custom solar system.
