That’s exactly where I wanted to work, but before you hate, I wanted to get into advertising because I didn’t like what I saw and thought I could do better. I got the degrees, took the psych classes, and set off to change the world for the better. Nobody hired me.

You can’t buy what you don’t know exists, and there are some awesome things out there. But being hammered by messages or propaganda is lazy and abusive; I don’t put up with it.

So yeah, I’m an wannabe advertiser turned massive ad blocker/privacy supporter. Screw the industry.

Ha! I definitely had a few hiccups. My admin account was disassociated somehow. A few db commands fixed that, but it took a while to track down the error and solutions. I also had problems with the poxy, syncing when other tasks have high resource use (the whole lemmy system just barfs for a few hours) and API access for 3rd party apps but users could log into the web just fine.

But then again, isn’t that sort of the fun and reward of selfhosting? 🤪 Anyways, working again… Until the next update.

I’m sticking with lemmy too, but I’ve had so many self hosted server issues I’ve lost steam.

I totally understand the growing pains and am really impressed with development, but I’ve had frustrating negative experiences with folks here too. There are some passionately angry, stubborn groups bringing down other communities and its disheartening.

260? Those are rookie numbers! We had “Orange Month” a couple years ago.
