Artist, theatrical performer, roller derby announcer, and former derby skater in the Midwest.
Single, childless, and married to my my freedom and sense of adventure.
That’s wonderful news to read.
What’s the argument against it being illegal? This seems like a no-brainer.
I spent part of the last two weeks reading ‘Bad Blood’, a book about Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos, and how they mishandled and faked test results, creating problems for many of their customers. It just seems obvious to me that this kind of deception and fraud is particularly immoral.
If you know how to fix this where I can get qualified competent medical assistance with my issues before they snowball together and murder me, please tell me how because I cannot solve this.
I wish I did, man.
Stories like yours are what I think of every time someone tries to tell me we have “access” to health care, when the reality is we were all sold as a commodity to the health industry by people we elected to protect us.
Just the thought of DIY medicine scares me, and honestly, it’s sad that such a thing has to exist.
True.
If you’re a wage worker, though, America’s already lost. Every time I hear about the 16,000,000 new jobs the Biden Administration has created, I have to remind myself that most of these are second and third jobs, because the majority can’t live off of one anymore. In Mississippi, where the minimum wage is still $7 an hour, you’d need to be making at least $28 an hour to be able to afford to live and start a family, at minimum.
And that’s not even considering health care and education, both of which are cost-prohibitive now for most.
If you’re working for a wage in this country, you’re already living under fascism.
If I can’t be immortal, I would so love an extra 20-50 years of life experience if I can experience it in a healthy and fulfilling way, so I love seeing news stories like this.
100%
I am so glad I didn’t spend the first 20 years of my life being convinced I was inadequate just so FB and Twitter and TikTok could sell me bullshit products I do not need.
To be fair, it’s also the phones.
Thanks for sharing.
I don’t hate anyone in particular.
I do, however, hate “everyone”.
There are just so many small ways that people are insufferable.
I would be shitting my pants in terror if Boeing were trying to take my body anywhere.
I mean, the Tet Offensive didn’t really have a goal except to make the occupiers take the opposition seriously.
And our president’s response is to drive our country further into debt in order to pay homage to Israel and pretend that they aren’t a pack of barbarians. It’s sickening.
I hope you’re right, but I can’t help but be pessimistic about this.
The old may die, but the wealthy will still be in charge, and as we’ve seen with so many issues, like universal background checks or free insulin and birth control, the wealthy have more than enough power to silence the majority, and we enthusiastically vote for it every two years.
I’d like to think that. Honestly I would.
Every indication we’ve seen so far is that they’ll vote Democrat and Republican, and the two major parties have exactly the same position with regard to our relations with Israel.
“Settler Violence” is way too sanitized a term for my taste.
Yeah, when I was standing in front of it it occurred to me that this was one of the most vulgarly nationalistic things I’ve ever seen.
Oh, wow.
I was not aware of that, but appreciate the info. If you ever see the real thing it has the most grotesque, masturbatory Trumpist American gilded frame.
I visited The Met recently, and I’m reasonably sure Washington Crossing the Delaware originated in the US.
Here’s a story for those of you who, like me, are generally all doom-and-gloom.
