Is insulting an investment and real estate fair illegal in France? Like the cops aren’t even pretending they did this for a credible crime!
ACAB in every country man.

I think they mean that a quantum system entangled with another quantum system serving as a clock will create the appearance of classical physics including classical notions of time in the system when you observe it from a macro scale?
That way this theory tries to bridge the gap between quantum notions of spacetime and classical notions of space and time?
If that’s not what it is then it’s beyond me what they’re trying to say.
It’s never throwing your ballot in the garbage though. I used to think the same way, but every vote on the left, even if for the lesser evil, even if they lose, moves the conversation to the left. When we all stay home you get maga nutjobs stealing the show running unchecked.
Last thing is that gerrymandered states are the EASIEST to upset by increasing voter turnout. To gerrymander effectively you have to put your opponent in dense areas they’ll win by a large margin, then spread your side so that you barely win the rest of the districts. That means that a 5% increase in votes on the left can take you from a loss to a nearly complete victory in a gerrymandered state.
Vote splitting on the other hand is a trickier beast, but in the end if all the left votes go to a moderate then that gives the left a lot of leverage because if the moderate candidate doesn’t bend to the left then they’ll lose the next election.
Always vote.
Sorry I was just watching a video that was explaining that most companies are run by a handful of people who basically each represent several of the largest shareholders combined. I suppose I was imagining these people making the actual decisions and hiring the board and pushing the direction of the company and the lobbying efforts as the “investors”.
You’re right I don’t mean we should commit war crimes against grandpa because he has a pension fund lol
That’s the problem with investors, if they’re not making more money than last year they find a way to fuck the rest of us. Either they pressure companies to lay off workers, they pressure the government to cut taxes, lower pesky labour and environmental regulations, or just handover cash in the form of a subsidy or bailout.
Either way they get our money somehow and enshittify our lives. If there’s no hell we’ll need to invent a special kind of justice for these people.
LMFAO… Typical conservative, when the other side does it is all “see this is what they want” but when it’s their side that does is, which is to say 99% of the time someone does something heinous to another human being, it’s all “why are you making this political?” … I don’t know, because conservatives have been trying to exterminate trans people for decades now?? As if anyone but a conservative would kill someone for being trans. What a joke!
Not to say they’re NOT doing this, but it would be very counterproductive. If you think Russia might attack you, the cheapest option is to arm Ukraine. You get to fight Russia and you only pay materiel costs not personnel. A lot more bang for the buck. Not to mention that by arming Ukraine you’re also coalition building with every other country that’s doing the same. Which means if Russia does attack you, you can be quite confident that you will also be armed if not directly supported due to the escalation.
This is the vaguest comment ever. Are you happy about the reduction of international flights? Are you suggesting people should stay in their own countries? Or just Chinese tourists?
You start off strong then move straight to supporting the fucking Taliban, as if that’s a reasonable position to take.
I agree, the article is likely highly sensationalized, but let’s be clear the Taliban are a piece of shit government with extremely regressive and repressive views. Maybe this shit doesn’t happen in Kabul, but Kabul seems bad enough that women can only show their faces and most are even too afraid to do that. That shows you that it’s a TERRIBLE place to start with even in the best places. Unfortunately many people don’t live in Kabul and it seems that the government isn’t going to do anything to stop regional authorities from abusing their power and any young woman they can get their hands on.
Don’t travel to Afghanistan. Every dollar that goes to Afghanistan supports religious oppression.
What the fuck is wrong with you that you see human suffering on a massive scale and think that bigotry is the right response.
The base means how high you can count using only one digit. In base ten you have 0-9. In base one thousand, 0-999 are all represented as a single digit (you’d need a massive numerical system). Let’s say that w is the number for 998, and x is the character for 999. You’d count 0, 1, 2, 3…w, x then the next number (one thousand) would be 10. 11 is one thousand and one and so on all the way to one thousand nine hundred and ninety nine which would be 1x, then two thousand would be 20.
The base is just how high you can count before you need a second digit. In base 2 you can only count 0 and 1 before you need another digit. That’s why two is written “10” in base two.
Yeah. The acid in the vinegar is what gives it cleaning power. The base in the baking soda gives it cleaning power. They each will clean different things. When you mix them you get an acid base reaction which makes water, co2, and a salt. None of those have good cleaning properties in that situation.
Baking soda works, vinegar works. When you mix them together it’s just salty water. It does nothing.
LMAO… ‘Despite’ the devastation…
That’s like if your dog bit the neighbour, but then the neighbor killed your whole family and burned your house down and a journalist said “despite the loss of of everything he owned and everyone he loves, he now says he was happy his dog at least got one in first”
What kind of degenerate reporting uses obvious normal human reactions to tragedy to score political points and dehumanize innocent civilians.
That’s true to some extent. Any stretching will return to nominal state in fairly short order, and tears certainly heal. However it never goes back to it’s “pretorn” state, and I wouldn’t think anyone would want it to, a lot of hymens don’t allow significant penetration of foreign objects (or body parts) in their original states. The article I linked has more details on that in a few different sections.
Breaking a hymen when you first have sex is indeed a myth, but so is the idea that sufficient arousal will prevent tearing every hymen.
Hymens come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and elasticities. They can tear from many things but most people with hymens are quite likely to experience minor tearing or bleeding the first time they have sex. That’s especially true if the hymen is particularly large or thick and if you haven’t torn it before the first time you had sex.
That’s the last myth, even if breaking a hymen was a real thing required for sex, it doesn’t say anything about virginity because many girls tear it in childhood and puberty from a variety of activities as innocuous as swimming.

Dude if you think the average Palestinian is a member of the PLO you’ve lost your mind.
Sure Egypt doesn’t want to just “take in all of Gaza doors open”. There are a lot of reasons for that and among those reasons is that you will also have taken in most of hamas, which is s problem. But it’s not because “Palestinians are the villains here” or whatever fucked up shit you’re trying to say.
Dude… what the fuck??? That is super fucked up, get help man.
Oatmeal chocolate chip is the WORST.
A good chocolate chip cookie is AMAZING but not in oatmeal.
Only raisins/dried fruit belong in oatmeal. Oatmeal is a chewy cookie and raisins are a chewie addition they go together PERFECTLY.
Jury nullification isn’t a real thing. It’s not a law in any country, it’s a “loophole” that springs out from some simple concepts.
Both of those things are important to avoid tyranny in the judicial system.
What that means is that if, for any reason, the jury decides to find you “not guilty” even against their “jury instructions” or the law itself, you’re off the hook forever. This concept is called “jury nullification” but it’s not a law or “feature” of the justice system. In fact most of the time it’s been used for very unjust outcomes, for example juries often refused to find people who perpetrated lynchings guilty because a “jury of your peers” in many states was racist AF!
That being said I LOVE to see it used to refuse unjust laws!
