I remember in the 80’s they used science to wage optical warfare.
I am very typical earthling. I like earth food and earth drink and earth sports and earth media. Im all about earth things because I am so typical and earthling. so typical as to be very boring and not worth investigating or looking into because I am definately from earth.

I definitely had no clue about decentralized social media 15 years ago.
I liked space balls but not the phantom menace. The fandom menance though was quite good before they shut it down.
I am so screwed.
not necessarily but at least far enough away that gravitational forces are way different. the sun contrls orbits for over 1000 au but neptune I think is the farthest circular orbit at 30 au. Our measurements at 1au have no practical gravitational variance at all but we assume light is uneffected by it.
Good point and black holes are part of make me wonder about that given what it does to light and spacetime. All our measurements of the galaxy and universe is on a speed of light is in our gravity well and even though it drops off so quickly the suns is so huge we have to have quite a distance to get to where its inconsequential is way beyond earth. Knowing there it is the same 1000 au from the sun at high precision would be nice to know. It it showed any difference. Even slightly then it would be massive in our understanding of the universe.
well we measure it assuming it has no effect and that is why going way back in this chain I said I would like a measurement outside the influence of a gravity well.
I wouldn’t but it has been historically. Unsurprisingly with mirrors but always under the not insignificant influence of the suns gravity. Our most recent measurements I believe use cosmic bodies I believe which is what makes me wonder if our measurement is accurate. https://www.speed-of-light.com/historical_measurements.html
so you believe c was never directly measured?
when not under the effect and the big gravity well in teh area is the sun. maybe the voyager craft are far enough out for it to be weak enough.
for me it does as I know of no meaurement done under those conditions.
I want to know if the C constant is the same when not under the effects of a gravity well.
I actually stopped watching when I stopped wathing most over the air. the problem is the streaming free options being to convoluted with the gatekeeping. once I miss epsiodes im just sorta out.
its the transporters all over again.
This is one of the arguments for a basic income. When means tests are put into place you get those who qualify not getting it because they can’t deal with the red tape and worse you get folks who can navigate the red tape and game the system well getting it who might not actually qualify getting it (not saying it happens a lot just saying it happens period). End result is those who need it are not getting it possibly causing more cost on the healthcare system and such.
There is no shame here. No tax dollars would be spent around it if we had nothing to do with the region. We should exit it all because everything we have done has always resulted in bad results. This is definately an issue were neither party does a good job but the republicans have never, ever, shown to be better at getting to a good outcome. Therefore its not something that effects my voting. What gets me is all the hand wringers that want to vote or not vote to get an even worse outcome. Good job if we get that result. Hope you are good with were it goes.
Well as a dem voter I can say middle east policy does not effect my vote one iota so I think dem voters don’t agree on most stuff necessarily.
Dems have always been a loose coalition compared to the lockstep republicans. Its also why the left is the majority in the country yet it can’t keep a majority of power.
seems like a strange definition of europe?
