I find that it very much depends. It was very positive a month ago, but day by day I see a lot more arguing, name calling, and petty downvoting.
Just trying to create communities on Lemmy.ml to help with the big migration.

Firefox does this by default. So that.
“it’s normal! The world does this every 50 years!”
“It was hotter last year”
“You watch, we will have a crazy cold winter this year. Global warming my ass!”
At least I’m not my sisters children. Poor bastards can barely talk. They’ve got a shit future ahead of them.
Almost every place I call has a voice mail limit to prevent people from rambling on. Some places are 60 seconds, some are 120 seconds.
If OPs place is similar, they might only have an hour and a half of work.
That’s how much Samsung S22 Ultra sells for. Or I guess did, before the S23 Ultra came out.
Nah. My $2000 CAD unlocked directly from Samsung device had ads and bullshit pre-installed apps before I even inserted my SIM into it.
I returned that phone so fast. Never seen anything like that on my Pixel.
Feel sorry for them.
My parents have starlink. Muskrat raised the price less than 1 month after them having it. Then over the next couple months, rolled out a data limit of 1TB per month.
Their speeds also went from 250mbps down and 50mbps up to 10-15mbps down and 5mbps up.
They currently pay $150 per month for bottom of the barrel shit internet that drops signal multiple times per day. When they contacted support, support blamed it on third party routers, despite them using 100% starlink hardware.
Enjoy that, Mongolia.
Reddit deleted all of my accounts and IP banned me a few months ago because of a shitty power tripping mod on the Android subreddit.
You have no idea how happy I am that Reddit is imploding right now. I finally get to be part of conversations again.
People don’t matter. Content matters.
If big content creators leave, you’re going to have 450MM users sitting there looking at a blank screen.
I mean damn, my front page (not signed in) is so empty. I’m seeing the most random weird subreddits that I’ve never seen before, because there’s no other content making it to the front page.
Companies like Mojang (Minecraft devs) pulled out of Reddit today, so now they’ll have to wait for someone to repost all of the news, and have to go to different websites to report issues with the game. I’m sure other companies will eventually do the same.
Not to mention NSFW content is probably going to be really restricted or frowned upon, considering NSFW subs cannot be monitized. That pulls a TON of porn off the platform, which unsurprisingly amounts to a ton of users.
Is Reddit dead? No. But it’s going to drop dramatically in quality. We haven’t even hit July yet. Lots of people are going to be in for a rude awakening when their apps stop working. I know there’s a large amount of people who are very ignorant to all of this, and don’t even know their apps (and porn) are going to be gone July 1st.
Ya the only damage would be from the implosion and shrapnel. Everything else was sitting at the same pressure, so there’s nothing really going on to cause damage.
It’s weird seeing huge pieces that look relatively undamaged. Looks like you can just throw that frame with all the electronics in the spare parts bin and call it a day lol
You should use cloudflare tunnel. Helps secure your server and doesn’t matter if you don’t have a static IP.
no Karma competition
EDIT: THANKS FOR THE DOWNVOTES YOU IDIOTS.
EDIT 2: LMAO LIKE I CARE ABOUT DOWNVOTES, KEEP THEM COMING
EDIT 3: YOUR DOWNVOTES FUEL ME
…
EDIT 99: comment removed by user
It’s always funny, because they will be at -1 and cry like they don’t care, but then delete the comment because they want it to stop lmao.
Yea. Literally every reddit comment I posted resulted in someone replying to me in a toxic way.
I’ve only blocked one person on lemmy and that’s because they were replying to me in a toxic manner. That’s the first reply I’ve had that’s toxic, and I nipped it in the bud. I don’t care to have fighting matches back and forth.
Have you noticed if you go to Reddit and click on any thread, usually within the first comment thread, someone will be hating on another person? Fuck that.
I’d honestly suggest everyone block anyone who is being toxic. Not to mention, others don’t want to see your drama while looking through comments.
Thanks!
I’d love to get one. I know they are trying to keep everything compatible, but I know one day they’ll need to introduce a v2 to make the chassis slimmer or something, and I feel like I should wait for that.
I know I will get so deep into the ecosystem just for them to release a v2 and not be able to upgrade my components anymore.
I mean it’s just inevitable. There’s no way for them to make progress if they are locked into a very specific form factor forever, and I do think the current framework laptops look straight out of 2008.
I have 8 Android apps downloaded. I get multiple updates per day. I’m subscribed to GitHub release notification and my email is blowing up nonstop.
Everyone is working hard, which is great. Just a few weeks ago when I joined Lemmy the Jerboa app was pretty shit. I’d give it a 2/10. Now it’s a solid 6/10. Just needs more features and to stop timing out every 60 seconds.
No, honestly.
I hate that the algorithm is super broken and the only meaningful sort option is “TopDay”, which means Lemmy is only good for me to look at once every day at the same time.
Admittedly, I’m so bored, I open Boost for Reddit for more content.
Really hope more content comes to lemmy before third party apps shut down.
How’s the framework? I’m really interested it in. Any downsides?
I made the Android community because the power tripping Reddit mods banned me lol.
Most, but they’ll always have Lemmy in their back pocket, which is the important part.
I think if the top Reddit third party apps developed a Lemmy app, that would genuinely help keep people here.
The “official” Lemmy apps right now are rough. They aren’t terrible, but they are leagues behind any of the main Reddit apps.
Maybe America shouldn’t have declared COVID over when it was at its peak because they were “tired of wearing masks”?
I still wear my mask because COVID is still around. Never caught it. I have always properly worn it, wear it every time no exceptions, and be sure to properly wash my hands as well as wipe down my groceries and everything else that enters my home.
My girlfriend and I are the only two people we know that has not gotten COVID.
The amount of people I see who claim they wear their mask all the time but then post Instagram photos of them hanging out with people is too damn high. Just because they are friends or family doesn’t mean they can’t spread COVID to you lmao.
