Yeah, I guess you could argue it needs more contributors, but sort of like Wikipedia, suppose it saw wide adoption. Is it just a learn to code type thing? I guess better that Wikimedia runs it than stack exchange or whoever.

I don’t know that this article really explained how the U.S. waged psychological warfare, but sparked my interest enough that I pre-ordered the book.
Good article! I do remember being freaked out growing up by an old lady who had a goiter. I had never heard of the goiter belt though.
Finally, now we have a map to Plato’s gold
That’s great. I think the current UAW illustrates how being willing to fight grows your power, it doesn’t use it up. It’s a signal to others that they’re not alone, when you win it draws more people to your cause.
Sorry, think you mistook me. I’m saying debunking is something you do witth certain genres of material and not others. We might debunk a news report or a biography or a scientific study. We don’t debunk a novel or TV show or a campfire story.
I got a few credit hours away from being a bible major before I dropped it and eventually became an atheist. Our biblical interpretation professor started the first class by saying, “whether the six days in which God created the earth are literal or metaphorical doesn’t matter.” He said the Bible was not written to be a textbook, it started as an oral tradition which was later written down, and it’s purpose was to describe a people’s identity, where they fit in the universe and what they should do.
You’re right to say the genealogy is not historically accurate, I was just saying it’s not something it really makes sense to say was debunked.
Well the prompt was what are things you should cheap out on. I have a pixel 6, I think it was $600 or something like that? But to me cheaping out on a phone would be like a $100 device.
Because of how often I use it, it’s worth it to me to not have bloatware, to have a good camera, for the battery to last, resistant to water, etc.
Oh it’s that guy! Lol thanks for pointing it out
Going to respectfully disagree here. Outside of my glasses, my phone is the tool I use most often, many times daily. It’s worth getting a quality device, and if there’s an issue with the current one (battery, cracked screen etc) it’s worth replacing. But you’re right, it doesn’t need replacing just for the sake of newness.
Lol I mean how do you debunk something that wasn’t originally intended to be a scientific document. (I know that’s not the mindset among Christians)
Can’t blame them for warning people, seems like good advice.
First: a general thinks war is imminent? What a surprise.
That said, 74k troops does seem pretty low.
I think conscription has some value because if anyone can get called up at any time then a broader swath of the public has an incentive to oppose war. An all volunteer army means you’ve primarily got people who want to fight (not ideal from a favoring peace standpoint) or those who are economically disadvantaged, and who disproportionately bear the brunt of hawkish foreign policy.
This is very interesting, thanks
I think this explanation would be more satisfying if we had a better understanding of how the human brain produces intelligence.
I immediately had the thought to post this after seeing the above comment, and was pleased to see you already did.
You can just say “this headline is convoluted”
I think they weren’t ever going to use them because they know they would get nuked in turn. Once it became clear the bluff wasn’t working, makes you look weak to use a threat and not follow through.
Yes, you should verify whether they’ve taken it.
While the examples you shared are shitty, some of them aren’t what articles/studies mean by wage theft. Usually it’s concrete cases where an employee works but isn’t paid - for example shaving hours down, “oh we pay in 15 minute increments” but the rounding is always in favor of the company, or conveniently but regularly missing a couple hours of OT.
None of the events on the show are real, it’s all the bridge crew fucking around in the holodeck pretending to be in Starfleet
