I guess I’m just not too informed, but what does it mean to have a “show” on X vs. just being a person who posts videos? Is there some kind of more monetization if you have an official “show” on there?

I shouldn’t have even said or eluded to any kind of real project - just more of a loose idea. I wanted to set up something similar to Lenny but not necessarily for the same application against telemarketers. Just wanted to tinker around but never got off the ground - mostly because of some painful stupidity on my part trying to set up FreePBX and deleting my whole HDD accidentally.

I actually have a toll free number. I was going to potentially use just for a goofy project, however once robodialers find out you have a working number you might get a flood of spam calls. This sucks because you(as the toll free owner) are billed for any minutes for calls that connect to you.
Someone would have to foot those bills and that’s really how you’d only get a 1-800 number “for free”.
You know they used to say you could have it your way. If I want KFC from BK they should live up to their end of the bargain and oblige.

This works IMO. Our company used to do this. Hell, I even fell for one once, which is some shameful shit considering I work in the tech industry. That shame enough though has kept me more on toes ever since.

I am in my mid 40s myself. I think the default advice is to just find social hobby groups and meet people that way. The more you put yourself out there, the more chance you have to make a connection. Also, I don’t think it’s a problem to be the “odd old lady” - wear that badge with pride IMO.
I will be surprised if you find someone on here who had that experience - but yeah weird episode. I had never heard of them at all. Sounds like the guy was just some kind of charismatic prankster but the mysteriousness of it all makes me wonder how he got such a substantial following.

I think this is all personal preferences, but by default many times with an SO you usually are both building towards a common goal together to cement your future together. Again, I’m sure that’s not the case for everyone but I am just speaking generally.
With a “very good friend” that might not necessarily be the case - but these lines can all get very fuzzy depending on people’s outlooks, perspectives, wants etc.
