Interesting, but since the study was primarily a tag along survey to detecting COVID, I wonder if they controlled for folks who were on SSRI’s, and if the distribution of participants was across the equator, or primarily in areas of the world that experienced summer during the survey period (March-Oct, 2020).
It’s known that SSRI’s contribute to a heat intolerance that is typically more noticeable during summer months. It’s described as feeling warmer, and is accompanied (sometimes) by decreased production of sweat.

That’s not to say there may be some (or a lot, even) merit to this study, but I’m curious about those two issues - if they had been controlled for.

I had a switch wig out today and whatever it was doing poisoned all the dhcp leases on the network as they came up for renewal (assigned IPs on the wrong subnet - even though it wasn’t supposed to assign IPs at all). It took me a very long time to figure out, because not everything failed at once. Plus, even after I’d swapped the switch, some devices just started working, and others needed their leases reset manually. An hour in, my wife was in the fetal position clutching a squishmallow.
Real reason: They’re demanding that France make assurances for access to food.

I live in a house that is big (ish) - 2 stories + basement, and about 1800 square feet. (So like 18 feet by 40 on each floor.)
I have 5 mesh routers because ASUS is absolute trash at making routers that just work.
(Disclaimer: Some of their routers are fine, but I own ET8’s and XD5’s - they are trash.)
I’m slightly less concerned about inflation than I am that the U.S. is on the verge of having its geopolitical power collapse while also nearing the conclusion of a slow moving coup that has been in progress since the 1980’s. The end result of those things will likely be a religious ethnostate, or naked corporate control of every aspect of our lives. Maybe even both!
But it’s a point well taken. The future in the U.S. is slightly uncertain and possibly not as fucked as I fear, but the present in Ukraine is a known entity.

I almost bought into the Ubiquity ecosystem when I looked last time, but folks complained that the company seemed to be shifting focus a bit, and the first glimmers of them requiring user accounts started to appear. I wound up deferring until it unexpectedly became an emergency issue with a rushed replacement from a big box store.
About 23 years ago I couldn’t make it boot when I plugged in a USB hub.
And since, my life just became too invested in Microsoft/Adobe products to be able to use something else as a daily driver.
But I “use” Linux every day - whether it’s the PiHole, the NAS, the server that runs my 3D printer, or WSL in Windows PowerShell. I’m about to spin up my own OPNSense router, too.
Weird trajectory on WSL - I learned Unix commands using MacOS terminal for a previous job, but I generally abhor windows command line (it just doesn’t work with my brain). So now when I use commend line in windows, I default to *nix.
It sort of works out that I use Macs for personal use, Windows for work, and Linux to run the systems of my life.
This is going to sound weird, but what WiFi system do you use?
I currently use an ASUS mesh system and it’s utter trash with Apple devices.
