  • Watch Next Generation or a few episodes of OG Star Trek & then seeing Wrath of Khan movie.

Starting with Next Generation isn’t a bad option I think. The beginning is rough at parts but has some really good episodes in it. The series got much better after season 2. You could follow a skip list to skip over the episode that are deemed horrible on your first watch to make it all easier. It’s worth going back later to watch them though.

Deep space nine follows up an event that occured in Next Generation, so that show might be confusing till you watch NG.

Voyager is pretty much self-contained since that’s a big part of the story lol. Only thing that could be confusing would be a character that’s sorta important later on that is from NG. It isn’t much but just something to state if stuff like that bothers you.

Enterprise is a pretty okay show I think. It’s the earliest show in the timeline and mankind’s first exploration. People don’t like it for some reasons that are completely justified but it’s never been anything to stop me from enjoying it. Might be best to watch this after others because it is different.

OG Star Trek is a fun series to watch. Really episodic so you can find some of the best episodes and try just watching those. Watch 3/4 of the best (including the one was Khan) and then watch the movie “Star Trek 2 Wrath of Khan”.

  • Sometimes the updates aren’t even worth it.

Toyota said my prius needed an update so I installed the app for it. All the update did was remove fucking features that were usable in the car. Used to have the option to use Pandora from the console but it got removed randomly by an update.

Then they installed an Alexa search page that glitches my console if I every select it.

    Basically I’m saying FUCK TOYOTA

  • Lmfao Sugar Land. The Onion picked the perfect place for the article. It can be said the same for the rest of Houston too.

I remember driving to pick my friend up around there a decade ago, but having to stop in her subdivision first to fix my cars screen/central console by updating. Parked between two houses in the suburbs and began fixing it.

The owner of one of the houses came out and just stared at me. Eventually he began to flash his garage door lights constantly at me to go away. I wasn’t blocking his driveway or anything during this. The old guy just keep looking at me as I was trying to reset stuff.

Then he got in his car and just idled it in the driveway and began flashing his high beams at me. I was stuck sitting there because the car required to be parked while updating. Eventually the dick sped his car forward out of his driveway and blocked me from even able to move forward. He lowered his window and just stared at me again. I held up the phone that said it was updating my car and told him. He just said OK and kept watching me until it was done and he moved to let me go.

Only 9/10 minutes had gone by from when I first parked to when I left. Such a creepy ass moment to deal with when I was 17 years old. I fucking hate living in Houston.

  • “The Man from Earth” - this was a really good film that has a small cast and almost entirely filmed within a single room. It was written by Drexel Bixby who was also a writer for Star Trek. He wrote “Mirror, Mirror”. This was the story he wrote from his death bed and got turned into a movie in 2007. Has a few star trek actors in its small cast too. Trying to be vague for the story of the movie because I felt going into it blind was such a good way to experience it.

“Fantastic Planet” - this animated film was an experience to say the least. I loved watching it as a kid and bought the Criterion collection edition a few years ago. It’s on HBO Max and worth a watch for how weird it is.

  • Well a fast tutorial I can give is this.

    1. Disable/remove updates for the default YouTube app

    2. Download revanced from this site https://revanced.app/

    3. Install revanced app and update anything necessary.

    4. Download the recommended YouTube APK which is 18.23.35. Here is a link I used to get the APK. https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/youtube/youtube-18-23-35-release/

    5. Once that’s installed, go to the revanced app and go to the “patcher” menu.

    6. Click “select an application” button and then click the “Storage” button you see on the bottom. Then find the youtube APK that you downloaded and click it.

    7. You can now select the patches you’d want the app to have. You could just select “default” to have it patch the 52 or 57 things that most people care to change.

    8. Now just click the patch button and it’ll hopefully not fail.

Hope that looks good formatted. I’m on my phone lol.

  • The other replier is right. I have the same issue every few months and all I have to do is download the recommended YouTube APK & reinstall revanced with the default patches.

Had this issue again 3 days ago and it fixed it. Just be sure you are patching the APK you downloaded and not the original YouTube app. That caused the patching to fail the first few times till I noticed.

  • The moment somebody complains that a current star trek is too progressive I just have to laugh.

From the very beginning the show has been progressive in social issues!

To make a whole new sub because you got banned for complaining a ST show was too progressive is just fucking priceless. OP is straight up living the bender meme and doesn’t even realize it.

I gotta say again I love the public mod logs. I feel so much catharsis from this after once being a target of /r/watchRedditDie. A user lied and said I banned him for posting a picture of Snoo pissing on the flag. I had actually banned him for posting a picture of hornets coming out of a penis.
