Assuming that they were not using high precision munitions and deliberately were using a lot stronger bombs in this conflict I highly doubt that your number is even close to the actual casualties.
Yeah I think there was a report that about half of the bombs dropped have been “dumb” bombs that aren’t used for precise targeting. So based on your math from those you would expect it to be about 5% Hamas to 95% “ah well sorry you were just born in the wrong place” innocent people. The other half may have been targeted better, but we don’t even really know that.

Yeah I mean I would definitely disagree because that estimate was mysteriously in line with assuming every single man killed (at that point) was in Hamas. Even saying half of all men killed seems pretty generous

I get that this may be the best way to approach it in most cases, but what happens when it doesn’t work? As you said it hasn’t been successful. In a hostage negotiation, if any attempts had been fruitless, they would send in a team to rescue hostages by force. Not let the negotiator keep fumbling while people were being killed.
What I think they are getting bad press for is the broad strategy of trying to restrain Israel while maintaining the relationship.
Yeah I agree and imo this is deserved. Why is the relationship so important that it justifies undermining your own stated set of morals in such a public and humiliating way? I do not get it.

It seems like the problem is with UN security council resolutions not being enforced, so why make it look like America is the issue? Why not give it the best chance? Hell If you cared about the well being of your fellow human beings (controversial I know) wouldn’t you be approving resolutions and then fighting to get them implemented? If they ignore it you can fucking sanction them. Use it to justify stopping arms sales and aid.
America cannot escape their responsibility for this, IMO. If they’d voted for a cease fire and Israel had ignored it, it would be Israel’s fault. The way it stands America shares the blame, whether they like it or not.

While I have serious issues with Biden on Israel, he really has no ability to force a ceasefire. (Short of sending US troops in to enforce it, and that would be a terrible idea.).

What you are alleging is that they are doing what, the starvation carefully, so that nobody notices it’s deliberate?
They announced their intention and are basically doing it, but after diplomatic pressure allowed some aid in. It’s not “careful so nobody notices” but “obvious to most but with some flimsy diplomatic cover.”
It’s not an allegation of a conspiracy, just that they’re doing what they claimed. But yes they seem to have successfully confused a lot of people by superficially “allowing” aid to enter.

Then why are so many people starving? Just because they have been diplomatically strong armed into allowing some aid doesn’t mean they aren’t still using starvation as a weapon of war.

I personally don’t think it’s ever acceptable (even if you can somehow target the starvation to non innocent people) but my objection here is mainly to the millions of innocent people being starved. It seems like you agree with this but are resistant to criticising these tactics, how come?
That’s a lot of words to expend on this quite simple issue. You already said you wouldn’t starve civilians, because you are a reasonable human being. Anybody who would is not being reasonable and should be criticised. That’s it.
A starving person can, at least in theory, surrender and recover, might have a small chance of learning the errors of their ways and making the best out of the rest of their lives.
