Well, not boiling, but we do heat it up

Yes, actually at my job a co-worker just found exactly such a bug yesterday: Debug build zeroed out the variable and the release build didn’t. So the bug only occurred in the release build, but could not be reproduced on the debug build where the developers work on. So in the end he found it because of the different compiler flags used for debug vs release builds at our work place.
Yep, variables that are merely declared are not initialized, so their value is not guaranteed. Could be anything.
You’re charging the class for a thought crime!!
Horrible code. First, it doesn’t compile because there’s no ;
at the end of the class definition.
And then more importantly you have a private destructor which means this CriminalScum’s destructor will never be called, so you can’t charge it with distruction either. Or are you telling me this CriminalScum has friends?
And even “white” is a very vague term. My GF from Latin America is blonde and if it weren’t for her brown eyes, she could easily pass as a local in Europe. In fact she does pass as a local often enough. Plenty of people in Latin America are perfectly “white”, so immigrants from Latin American countries to the US can assimilate within a generation, easily. I know plenty of “white” Americans speaking perfectly fine American English, but with a last name like Garcia. So yeah, it’s ridiculous to die on the hill of “non-white” immigration from the south.
In fact, all of US wealth and power is built upon (involuntary/undocumented) immigration in different aspects, but pretty much every way. There’s a reason why your electronics are cheap and your food is so affordable.
I shared Naomi Klein’s support for the “No Label” party on Facebook many years ago. It was of course satire.
Since then I really look into the things people share before I share them myself. Even though I generally trust these people.
Not clear from the article how many are from Chinese brands though or just manufactured there.
He’s not my president. Can’t do much but protest here and hold my own representatives accountable.
I can’t fault anyone for not voting for a war criminal.
On foreign policy the US remains a genocidal bully with questionable morals and alliances. But domestically the Democrats present a veneer of somewhat moral, inclusive values. So with the presented choice I would recommend to go with the seemingly moral guy and try to hold him accountable, rather than vote for the fascist maniac that acts the same domestically and foreign.
Just hope you get locally active to organize a stronger left for the future.
But “wasting” government resources on immigrants (those few that don’t work and as such don’t enrich the country they immigrate to) would only impact the economy if the health of the economy is reliant on government help. Just because the government is spending more, doesn’t mean the economy is worse… (often time it’s actually better off with government spending). Unless we see massive tax increases in such countries that will impact wealth generation and labor costs etc. I cannot see any negative impact on economic health.
Quite the opposite. Immigration usually helps fill in gaps in “economic planning” and the extra labor helps the economy. And increased government spending for the poorer groups of the population usually boosts the economy a lot more than tax cuts. So any negative economic impact of immigration has to overcome these positive ones.
That said, there are certainly other, non-economic reasons against immigration, but that wasn’t the point.
That’s mostly because the “Elite” is rarely affected by these economic downturns, sometimes even gets richer quicker. That there’s a high potential for lashing out when people see the wealth gap widen one way or another, shouldn’t be a surprise.
How would unfettered immigration (assuming it exists) cause an economic downturn?
Ukraine indirectly benefits a lot from Israel’s weapon technology. Many of the European weapon deliveries they receive were tested by Israel on Palestinians. See “The Palestine Laboratory” (sorry for the Amazon link. You may find the book in other stores as well of course).
The only clothes I wear multiple days are pants and sweaters. Only on days when I barely used socks I may wear them two days in a row.
They are enablers but at the same time it’s impossible for them to position themselves into opposition to the ruling parties because they’ve been “the establishment” for far too long. So the anti-establishment right flocks to the AfD as the only viable option for them and gets radicalized.
And Israel needs to do something against its bad reputation at this point. They hope a 2-months break will make people forget whose been brutally bombing schools and refugee centers. And if Hamas or whoever breaks the 2-months ceasefire, it’s clear Israel isn’t the aggressor.
The bigger question is why alcohol is not illegal. Ruins lives and families all over the globe. It is addictive, although not as much as opioids, and drunk people cannot drive and can also otherwise not be trusted. Some tend to violent outbursts etc.
The only answer is: It’s easy to make, it’s been tradition and banning/limiting it has been tried before. And that’s also the reason why tobacco is still legal and nicotine isn’t illegal.
Yeah, just today I remembered that Kushner has already “solved” this problem when I read an interview about the future of this conflict depending on the future US president. The interviewee said Trump hates Netanyahu because he congratulated Biden when he won the 2020 election, so the US would probably not pressure Israel to resolve the conflict, but also not help Israel out.
You tested it for microplastics? They’re everywhere. Even on top of mountains
