  • On this point, it would be stupidly hard.

Just from a programming and software perspective. All the old code that runs banks and the back end of air travel. It barely runs as it is, do a switch up of years, even leaving the months alone and it would probably freak out. Standadize the months while you are at it and the whole thing falls apart.

Are you old enough to remember Y2K? That required a lot of techs to spend a huge amount of time fixing code that was never intended to see years change from 19xx to now just even consider 20xx.

That is before we go about changing paper Birth Documents, marriage documents, house deads, … Should I go on?

  • Worth saying I am sort of playing devils advocate here.

Change it to what? It is easy to back seat yell “Capitalism Bad” but change to what? Every other isim has it’s own laundry list of issues. Which one is least corruptible by sosciopaths?

You don’t think sosciopaths are going to take more than there fair share in socialism, or skew the system over time? They aren’t going to find their may to the top in every single form of government to change the rules to their desires?

Quite a few will argue that we aren’t even in capatalisim any more, it has been corrupted and changed, massaged by “government” to the point of failure, the Austrian school of economics.

So it is easy to stand on the roof top and say “Capitalism is the problem” but it seems like a much deeper rot to me

  • I use my phone for quick notes on the go, or creating lists of information I want to be able to re order and edit.

I use pen and paper mainly for brain dumps. Getting a stream of thoughts out of my head and on to paper. I find trying to use a phone for this will lead to some distraction and the thought will go before I capture all of the info.

I also use pen and paper when studying a topic, especially for a test, I find the simple of act of writing the information down is enough to cement it in my brain, even if I never go back and read those notes.
