Land Shrimp/Forest Shrimp. That’s a new one for me.

Interesting discovery! I’d bet oil and petrochemical companies would be all over funding and trying to commercialize this research, because it means we wouldn’t need to fully “wean off plastics”…
Latest result is 39.7% For / 60.3% Against.
Getting the money from being paid to influence for Dubai is probably pretty cool for them.
I reckon the hot dogs, pizza and other junk I’m having often are going to kill me faster than plastic is.
The same government that presented another deal so good you couldn’t refuse!
Yeah that’s interesting to know. I haven’t delved too far in the article but I thought the gut health-related social media would have suggested foods like prunes, beans and other foods that make you shit more than it would recommend medication.
There are plenty of options that are part of a healthy diet that could be filling or as part of a snack.
P.S. A one month little ceasars pass (if I lived in the US) would cut my food budget by more than 75% but I’d gain 10lbs of fat every month.
Damn I’m curious, how much are prunes compared to laxatives, in the US?
You’d love something like misskey…
Don’t repost my comment onto github issue 317, I’ve commented there already.
A tagging is something that would be very nice to have and I’m in full support of it. Anyways here are the parts that I’d like to see implemented:
- Communities can have inbuilt tags that apply to every post
- Users can add tags of their own to a post
- There should be reasonable limits to how many tags can be placed and federate (I suggest 5 of each type)
- Communities should optionally have a filter list of what tags are permitted to be assigned and anything outside of that is discarded from the post
- Instances can maintain a list of “popular tags in the last day” etc. (a /trending page)
- The endpoint for aggregating local, subscribed and Fediverse posts by tag is a big feature and should be prioritized. e.g. server.com/t/gaming
- An endpoint for filtering posts by tag is desirable: server.com/c/community/t/discussion for example. This could be implemented similarly but separately as a flair, possibly.
- Tags should be a separate field entirely to the post body if possible, otherwise they should exclusively be written at the end of the body, to avoid parts of the body text incorrectly picked up as a tag
- An instance’s slur filter should apply to the tags
- Users should have the option to not display tags
- Backwards compatibility doesn’t have to be perfect but should be kept in mind (e.g. can the tagged and untagged versions of lemmy still federate, etc.)
- How tags on Lemmy will federate and display on other ActivityPub servers is a consideration.
I’ll add: I think having a limit on number of tags, not just the number displayed is important, to ensure people actually curate their topics correctly, it limits stupid tags like #lol that you’d see on tumblr and it prevents bots that tag everything with 100 tags from appearing everywhere.
That video is hilarious. The turret and barrel look like this after firing:
Have a 2 hour phone chat (with spouse?)
Buy a note book and write a diary to remind yourself of everything that has happened in the last year.
There’s !music@beehaw.org where you could ask.
I once opened a glass bottle of soda with my teeth, having nothing else around. It worked but it wasn’t worth it.
I’m glad NHTSA is taking action to revert their stance on this one.
Site is back up after being rehosted off-site!
Functionally you can’t do duties regulated by ITAR without authorization from the U.S. Department of State… so effectively you can’t fill that position. While looking for jobs I’ve applied to some US companies who are involved in defense contracting before for a non-defense position and they basically label me (a Canadian) as a foreign person at the first screening and they don’t call me back.
For practical purposes, ITAR regulations dictate that information and material pertaining to defense and military-related technologies (items listed on the U.S. Munitions List) may only be shared with US persons unless authorization from the Department of State is received to export the material or information to a foreign person. US persons (including organizations; see legal personality) can face heavy fines if they have, without authorization or the use of an exemption, provided foreign persons with access to ITAR-protected defense articles, services or technical data.
This silly little American thing called ITAR, which mostly applies to arms and munitions, but also applies to some space systems.
E: Ok I can’t say “never a chance” but basically very little even if you are qualified.
I guess China is no stranger to the high inflation more risk-averse economic environment.
Took me a year and 150 applications and 10 interviews to find the job that I wanted. I wouldn’t want to wish the stress of job seeking on anyone.
