They were the reason I stopped watching when it first aired. I’m glad society is catching on.

Now I want to suggest this trilogy: a private little war, the last outpost, “mugato, gumato”
I wanna say “the corbomite maneuver” from TOS. I think it’s one of the best episodes of all, but most people don’t so i think it’s okay from the its all downhill perspective. It has everything: Kirk mentoring, an extremely powerful alien of the week, solving problems without fighting, but still tense situations. Such a great and representative episode.
From TNG maybe First Contact. Good intro episode as you get intro to the federation through the eyes of an alien of the week. The alien-chasing woman may be not a good thing to show depending on the person you’re showing it to, though.
For DS9, in the hands of the prophets. Doesn’t require much backstory unlike a lot of DS9, great ep, classic ethical debate/social commentary, and the majesty that is Vedek Winn.
For Voyager maybe distant origin. Great ep, doesn’t need much backstory, also great commentary on society
I always feel like my code is the best in personal projects when I don’t need to conform to whatever style and architecture has been decided on by history and committee.
Even though I didn’t enjoy the movie, I’m still sad that Paul McGillion wasn’t cast as Scotty for the 2009 film. He’s both Scottish and Canadian, so perfect for carrying the torch.
Computer, activate the ECH pip pip pip pip
Axes should remain the same with the lines missing at parts where there are missing data. This makes it clear
Newton MessagePad 2100. I used it daily from 2008-2011 (well after I had an iPhone) for office work and everyone thought I was crazy but I loved it. I still prefer the ui for calendar/contacts/note taking compared to everything else out there.
Yes, real wasabi is markedly different from what is usually served. Super delicious
The rocks eat the eps plasma and turn it into console lights and computer food.
The B story is meh, but the A story to me really adds to the dominion storyline by giving us a chance to see how the war has affected the crew through their interactions with someone who hasn’t experienced it. Plus add in a fun little sci-fi twist to it and it’s really a good plot line for me.
Really? I very much like “the sound of her voice”. For me “Profit and Lace” is by far the worst. No competition.
I have both and while it is usually easy to tell the difference I have been fooled before. Also , since my breathing is always at least a little impaired, albuterol helps me breathe better during a panic attack and often helps a little. It’s not surprising doctors would misdiagnose in a kid. Unfortunately if I take too much albuterol, the antsiness from the inhaler then just adds to the feelings of anxiety.
I vaguely recall a study from well over a decade ago where they used a light patch so that the only change in light for the sleeping participants would be on the skin and showed that circadian rhythm wasn’t dependent (solely, at least) on eyesight. Mind you this is a vague memory from a long time ago so take it with a grain of salt.
I have dropped all sugar a couple times. It’s not easy, but also not terribly hard for me. That’s not to say that is the case for everyone, just me. I have seen people come out of addiction to a few different drugs and it was not at all comparable. To compare my experiences with sugar would be as insulting as OP describes, if not more so.
But humans are all different, so I wouldn’t be shocked if for some it is comparable.
I haven’t watched broadcast/cable tv in years. Is bowling no longer aired? I never paid attention to it so I assumed it was just always there.
To me I feel like Ethan peck is actually very good at acting as Spock, but the writing is extremely unspock like and so it doesn’t feel right. Kirk’s writing also seems more like the mythos of Kirk remembered as by the 24th century than the actual buttoned up officer of the 23rd.
Yes, but only because starships don’t have holodecks yet when this takes place.
True for most of the franchise, but the ferengi are eventually. Also, I’m not sure if the federation prevents member worlds from continuing to have their own internal economies that could be market based. My guess is that they don’t and the ferengi will continue to use money for a long time.
