    1. I can’t have both an android and iPhone connected at the same time, because I won’t be able to use Android Auto, I’m forced into Car Play

Just got a new work truck, a Ford, with android auto and car play. This morning was the first time I plugged an iPhone and android in at the same time. I had plugged in the android first and a quick look I wasn’t able to switch to the iPhone without unplugging the android. I never plugged the android back in so idk if it prefers one over the other or just whatever is plugged in first. Could that be the same issue?

The way I heard it the insurance companies lobbied for seatbelt laws.

Something about if you die in an accident the payout could be larger than if you survived.

Opposite for motorcycles and helmets. On a bike you aren’t eligible for the same death payout as someone in a car so it’s cheaper if you die.

Again this is just how I heard it and I’ve never cared enough to actually look into any of this at all but on the surface and seems plausible.

  • Idk how I feel about easily migrating accounts from one instance to another or even having my password pass between instances on activypub. If it’s easy to migrate an account then it would be possible for an admin of a rogue instance or even just a rogue admin of a perfectly fine instance to take your account. One thing I learned since joining is these accounts are kind of disposable. Personally I only have 2 on 2 different instances one of which is lemmy.world which is/has grown a whole bunch in the last few weeks. Personally idk how that kind of growth is sustainable on this kind of platform and I’m not shocked they are running into issues. When an instance explodes the way lemmy.world has they need to make an extreme investment into the server side of the instance to keep things running smoothly and that doesn’t stay cheap or easy for very long.
