I mean if I basically even touch water while I’m dreaming, I start to drown until I remember that I can breathe water because I’m dreaming. It was literally just rain, once.
That being said, I don’t go around trying to see if I drown to test if I’m dreaming.

It’s a shibboleth, a way of asking a question that people who share your ideology will recognize as pushing it, while those who do not will not. This is like a dog whistle that can be heard by dogs but not by humans.
In question form it’s also often subtle propaganda, asking a question that presupposes something controversial, like “Why are trans players allowed to win so much on sports?” where the simple shibboleth might be “Should trans players be allowed in sports?” Both are confronting the same point, but the former assumes a trend that has not been demonstrated, while the latter simply assumes some reason without making it clear what the reason is.
And basically always if someone you meet says you need to wash it.

I mean cars do a lot of good, but yeah. The thing that messed up the US was a policy introduced in some places making a ridiculously high minimum number of parking spaces required for any business. And now, it’s pretty tough to overcome the way that made cities take shape, since now you kind of need to take a car to get places reasonably, meaning places need parking spots to make their customers feel like they can get in… It’s a viscous cycle

While true for more modern development, many beautiful, walkable European cities were simply built before cars were around, so it’s not like they made an extra effort to make them walkable, that’s just how things were done

A gene is a spot where the DNA usually codes for something, where an allele is the particular version of a gene carried by an individual.

Yeah. English doesn’t use the “bh” and “dh” digraphs the same way we use “th”, but Irish does. One you learn that, that’s like 80-90% of the confusion.
