Good fucking riddance to them all.
I couldn’t agree more

It’s honestly got a lot in common with your politics, in many ways. Our Labour party isn’t looking likely to do much good, but holy shit it would be nice to at least making everything worse in the sleaziest way possible all of the time. I personally put a lot of the blame on FPTP voting, although that is clearly not an instant fix in itself; the Dutch are doing a fine job of demonstrating that
They know the young won’t vote for them anyway, so they’re hoping this will do something to stem the tide with the rest of the population who would not have to do the service
I’m not sure how much of a difference that would make. That’s less than the total cumulative CO2 emissions of China and the US, and it’s 1% of 1% of the total mass of the atmosphere
We could so easily choose to use the spelling Ouranos and drop the Y sound at the start, but in our hearts we clearly don’t want to
I don’t think this is really a good assessment. Plenty of movies then looked terrible and plenty now look amazing. The recent Dune films look absolutely phenomenal. It’s a matter of how the films use the technology available, whether that means miniatures with camera tricks or it means completely CG stuff
Invite me to the jam, I swear I can whistle well
It’s your vote to do with as you wish, obviously, but for so long as we’re voting in an FPTP system then getting the lesser of two evils is the top priority. It’s nice if that actually means voting for a party you are happy to vote for, but I’d even vote Tory if the alternative was a Reform government. Fortunately we’re not in a situation that’s quite as bad as that.
Absolutely not. I’ll be voting for whoever has the best chance of keeping the Tories out of my constituency. That’s probably the SNP, but if it’s Labour I’ll damn well vote Labour. I’d take a lack of identity over all this in a heartbeat.
I learned to use my right hand for a lot of things when I broke my (dominant) left arm playing rugby, but I can’t say I recommend it as a course of action. Putting socks on one handed was a notably infuriating process.
Volume is not mass, and neither of them is weight. A gram is strictly speaking a measure of mass, and we just consider it to be a unit of weight in casual terms because the only frame of reference the vast majority of us have has reasonably constant gravity so we conflate mass and weight. That you can sort of use grams to measure volume is literally only because the density of common stuff (especially water) is close enough for most purposes. It’s kinda like measuring a distance in units of time so long as the method of travel is known. I can say “an hour’s walk” and I’m not really measuring distance there but you know roughly how far I mean
Good shit! I hope those bastards felt exactly as unpopular as they should
MAD only works if your enemy thinks that you really will nuke them about it. In this case Russia has to believe that America, the UK, or France will nuke Russia over, say, Poland or Romania. It’s possible that NATO leadership thinks that Russian leadership does not think that the three NATO nuclear powers would follow through.
It’s still the shortest route between Kaliningrad and Belarus, though, so it would still be a major objective for both sides if war were to break out.
Live in the Shire, start up a pub called “Giant Beers” which serves pints, be beloved by the Shirefolk and live in pastoral luxury
KFC in the UK is responsible for the only time I got chips (fries) while drunk on a night out that were so bad that I binned them
It honestly doesn’t require that much extra spending. Total US aid throughout the two years of the conflict so far has been roughly equivalent to a year and a half of Germany’s military spending. Covering that amount between the entire EU would be a single-digit percentage increase on defence spending
More likely to consider it synonymous with the UK in most contexts.
“British and Irish Isles” is the most common descriptor for the whole archipelago I see, and it seems a fair one even if it’s a bit long. It’d be nice if we could all agree on something catchier but that seems unlikely, all things considered
Yes
Because someone paid him to. The man is a grifter to the very core
