The purpose of the comment is clearly: “Cloudfare didn’t kick out the casinos because of a compromise with good ethics, but because it was making them lose money”. Please read it again.

I’m sure all this nonsense waste of energy is exactly what we needed just to stop climate change.
By “high school math competitions” I mean provincial or regional competitions where different schools send their best students. The average Spaniard has as much trouble in math as people from all other places, and high school math is very much the same.
I don’t know how it is in other countries, but Spanish high school math competitions are designed to test both logic and creativity. They’ll require you to use the material from your current year, but the way in which you have to apply that math isn’t obvious if your only competency in math is specifically passing high school tests. You don’t get a good score by being a proficient human calculator, but by applying good abstract analysis, which you should be able to apply in other areas of your life.
The Simpsons started as a parody of the (back then) dominant family sitcom that reinforced traditional values, where the family is led by a wise man who maintains the family and everyone else follows along in a traditional patriarchal hierarchy. Once that era got buried and they swallowed the thing they were mocking, The Simpsons slowly became self-referential, which made it a much harder show to write.
Well they aren’t just about to worship anyone, but they do.
Anti-abortion laws, and laws targeting trans people are local legislation that have already destroyed people’s lives, in some cases, quite literally.
This specific thing is the equivalent of throwing a pebble into a lake. The one thing that’s actually dangerous about a Trump presidency is the policies that may destroy the lives of whatever minorities the Republicans decide to target. However, brewing an imaginary of committing violence against your political enemies is one stepping stone towards legitimizing it. The same way that fascist fucks joking on Twitter about shooting a gay bar paves the way for one of them to actually go and do it, this paves the way for Trump to have his own Brownshirts.
Really speedrunning their transition into becoming Tory Lite.
A person who wants the State to threat with violence to the possibility of a person not accepting their body to be used for the sake of another, having their health and even life be put at risk for it, is not a libertarian. Would you want the State to force people to have their blood extracted if there were patients in hospitals requiring blood to survive, but not enough supply? A person who replies yes is not a libertarian; a person who replies not, but is fine with prosecuting doctors or patients for performing or seeking abortions is a hypocrite.
I’m okay with abortion being technically illegal (…) doctors should be the targets for any illegal abortion procedure
Moderates Libertarian Discussion
The joke writes itself.
Despite the article’s framing, Armenia isn’t particularly interested in antagonizing Russia, but rather they’re looking for whatever protections they may get against further aggression from Azeirbayan.
I’d be interested in watching a subtitled episode.
You underestimate how dumb the average person is. Couple that with a good cause and a lot of drive, and you get the statistical certainty that from time to time someone is going to do something unproductively dumb, supposedly for the sake of a good cause that doesn’t get promoted in any way.
The problem is that some people like this guy are clearly not compartimentalizing at all.
Interesting to note that France’s and Germany’s response has been has been more moderate than previous declarations during the last few months, backing the idea that this case could chill Europe’s overall support for Israel.
I’ll also remind that this was a provisional ruling ordering several mandates to minimize harm against civilians and provide material support for them, but not a ceasefire. They still have to rule on whether Israel is causing a genocide and consider the rest of South Africa’s requests, which will most likely not be discussed until the end.
Finland and Sweden getting invaded is terrible for Norway’s economy’s and plenty of individual lives, so Norway has a natural interest in making sure those countries are well defended, either through their own means or through diplomacy, regardless of their own individual risk of being attacked by Russia.
Norway is part of NATO, and has strong incentives to make sure that its neighbours aren’t at risk of being invaded. They still have reason to want to make sure Russia wouldn’t be able to invade.
Isn’t Israel occupying the northern part of Gaza? Why would they even bomb a southern city for any reason other than to provoke terror?
I’m not the person you were replying to, either.
