Use Cryptomator. You can then use any cloud storage provider knowing they can’t read your files.
Prices are really out of control. Particularly food which is a necessity unlike alcohol. I can’t see any government making significant changes to reduce either, including Labour.
We looked after a cafe who had a couple of PC’s to use that gave internet access. Yes this was a while ago, way before smartphones and wifi. The PC’s had some software that allowed internet access for a set duration based on how long they had purchased. This software was managed by an NT4 Server backend.
The owner called one day to say nothing works. When I got there, NT4 has been wiped and replaced with Windows 98. Apparently one of the university student baristas was asked to help when they had an issue. The owner was trying to save money from calling us out. Fixing this mess was way pricier than whatever was wrong previously!
Wait. Technical project managers exist?
Apple really makes me cringe with their practices recently. I always considered them the best of a bad bunch but at this point they’re now one of the worst.
How long do we think it will take before someone circumvents the EU only restrictions to the masses?
I’m sure they’re concerned about security, but the main reason is they don’t want to give up their cut of any app sales.
What’s wrong about crying about a cat? It’s like losing a family member after all.
I lost my cat two years ago and miss her dearly. We vowed no more pets but as time went on we missed having a pet. So we got another cat.
It’s hard when the end feels so cruel but having years of joy outweighs the weeks of sadness.
I charge at night because of Adaptive Charge. Quick charging all the time is shortening the life of your battery.
Hah, yes!
As a kid, I remember when the schools used to have that paper that literally was paper and on one side being shiny. Shit used to literally smear on the shiny side. I don’t think it actually exists anymore.
OP never bothered to research their purchase properly to buy a TV with a centre stand…
I don’t disagree.
For the first time, I am actually dual booting with Mint and using it. Honestly, it wouldn’t be a thing without Proton. Props to Valve!
Incoming the switch to Linux tribe…
I run Plex, Jellyfin, nginx, nginx proxy manager, AdGuard, portainer, a flame startpage, nextcloud, unifi controller and Wireguard on a Pi4 4GB. I don’t really run into any CPU issues. Transcoding video on Jellyfin or Plex though is a no no though.
Pointless fact, I was walking to get lunch from work and saw Chris (the guy from explaining computers) crossing the road. Made me double take. This was a few years back when I first saw his Pi videos.
I don’t know chocolatey but like Winget which is natively built-in
I should upgrade my crappy TP-Link TL-WR702N actually.
Any idea why the Slate AX router costs more than the Beryl AX, which has better specs?
Edit
I’ve done a bit of research and the Beryl is twice as fast over 5GHz. It’s slightly smaller and lighter. It has one less Ethernet port, but the WAN is capable of 2.5Gb. The Slate has an SD card slot for file sharing. It also has a quad-core CPU, so is faster when connecting to a VPN (550Mbps over 300Mbps of the Beryl).
I actually prefer the black colour of the Slate over the light blue Beryl, but with the slower VPN speed and lack of an SD, both of which are not really a problem for me, the Beryl looks like it’s the one I should go for.
If anyone in the UK is interested, you can make quite a saving in the UK from Amazon. Normal price is £119 but if you tick the £20 off and 16% off voucher you end up paying £79.96. A saving of £43.53.
Fuck Unity. Yet another 2023 company shitting on its users.
