This is an incredibly narrow view of people, and what ‘obvious’ is. This sentence is absolutely awful if you’re ESL in any way:

Even I stumbled for a second on that sentence. What the hell does ‘appear warmer’ mean? Colour, hue, saturation, is there a temperature reading on them? It can snow at zero degrees, but that middle image could be -20 for all we know; it’s in shadow and the only non-cool-colour in it is that orange rectangle.

I mean, to me, it’s obvious that you add an apostrophe to ‘don’t’ but you didn’t. Your sentence also doesn’t end with a period. Does that mean I get to call you out for missing such an ‘obvious’ thing, and insult you for not doing it? You know, how obvious and dead simple writing your sentence correctly would be.

Country/Nation is a rather new concept - most people throughout history would say which village/area they were from. It didn’t have to be a Holy War for the leader to say “we have to fight (invaders) because they are an affront to (whatever god.)”

I don’t imagine the average peasant would care the nation of the person taking taxes from them, so long as those taxes were low and that’s all they took. (I mean obviously they didn’t love paying taxes.) And remember, one of the reasons used for the taking of taxes was that leaders were ordained by God.

I think you’re seriously, seriously out of touch with how bad things are. ‘Decades’ isn’t even close. When temperatures rose 5-8c, which yes is higher than we’re at (so far) it took 20-50 thousand years to recover.
