It is the one device most people use literally all day everyday. Having a great one is worth the money. But it does not need replaced every year. Mine is 4 years old and still works like new (one battery replacement). I will likely replace it next year.

It’s algorithmic to get you to pay more. The price will go up during high demand. Their “sales” are often more than the normal price. Then the price will go back down when demand falls. It works (for Amazon).

Yes. But you can also get on the hook for it. For example, there are laws in my state for small estates. It lets the family take over assets like a checking account without going through probate that often takes over a year. But if you do so you also take on any debt, even if you don’t know about it. It is better to just go through probate.
It is also why you should not pay the funeral expenses for someone that dies.

Affinity is pretty good. It is different than Adobe, so workflows are slightly different. Some things are harder but some things are easier. Adobes real advantage is AI and Lightroom. Affinity is getting popular enough that there are plenty of instructional videos on YouTube.
