This isn’t an existential problem. Just block threads.net.

If it helps bring perspective. I’ve never even heard of Fedi Garden before this post. I did a lot of puzzling over choosing instances for Lemmy and Mastodon when I first joined and never saw a link to them. I’m not sure why they’d even be seen as a trusted list for a new users, since at joining the user also doesn’t know anything about them or their values, reliability, or reputation.
Plus, once you’re in the Fediverse you then learn you can just change instances. Once someone points out that [other instance] can talk to Threads users the individual can just switch or stay depending on their preferences.
The best place to go is Z, which federates with both.
At least in the DS9 episodes Section 31 was still an antagonist organization.
Hamas is not Gaza, you don’t need to condone the former to support the latter. Nothing they do makes the genocide right.
13,000 in Gaza, 30,000 overall (including West Bank). Funding is being cut to the organization entirely.
So this has to be a US diplomatic campaign. I don’t think Japan has much in the way of Israeli entanglements.
And if it’s not one now, it could become one in the future.
None of this is relevant to my comment. The Dutch don’t just not have speed limits, they have speed limits AND traffic calming. And speed cameras do make roads safer:
Just because some rich people can effectively ignore laws does not make fines for breaking those laws a tax. Not being financially able to ignore speed limits isn’t “suffering”.
A “vigilante” isn’t just a person acting outside of the law that some people agree with. They’re usually about punishing wrongdoers, not protecting them.
You are very disingenuous.
You are very much not off target with your suspicions about this account’s motivations. And it’s not to show off their familiarity with Arabic.
This both isn’t one and I don’t for a moment believe you’re using it in the name of multiculturalism. You’re a reliable apologist for Israel and want to make “schools” sound like something scary.
Most people here speak English as a first language and you’re making the choice to switch to the foreign word here for a reason.
I don’t even get how the op is supposed to work. Ukraine shooting down an unannounced military plane approaching the war is the right thing to do. Even if everything Russia said was true, it’s not like Ukraine should just stop shooting down enemy aircraft because sometimes they might be carrying POWs rather than munitions. It would be unfortunate for the POWs if it were true, but if I were Ukrainian I wouldn’t question the military’s choice at all.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say “coast to victory”, I think both men are deeply disliked by factions of their electorate and thus could lose, but if it was literally anyone but Trump, I’d say it’s already a foregone conclusion.
Which is aided by being as shitty as possible while Biden refuses to take a hard opposing stance. He doesn’t have to just sit back an wait, the stuff he’s doing is helping bring about that outcome.
Yeah, I thought one of his strong points was supposed to be foreign policy, but his stance on Israel has isolated the US and seems to be fueling chaos in the Middle East. If he wanted to just say “I’ll do what I want, I’m the president”, he could have at least had the decency to not seek reelection and doom us all.
Even better, that should be their primary social network site. It’s inherently restricted to valid government accounts and under their control so all the right data protection and preservation procedures can be followed. Then Threads users can follow potus@socia.whitehouse.gov or whatever.
