Very cool. I imagine having threads using the protocol helps a fair bit.

Ooh ok - I thought this project was due to be discontinued good to see it ticking over.
Great to see he’s enthusiastic about it, not sure genpop is though.

It’s more like - what if I just posted here on The Verge, and you could follow me on Mastodon natively? That’s way bigger than ICQ, I think.
The idea you could post from your own business/personal/group website and not have to run through social an intermediary that holds you hostage is a killer feature.
Put me in the crowd that would jump to Linux rather than Windows 11 but my sw (Affinity Apps) don’t work on it.
Most of the other apps needed work on it. I just don’t need all the BS Microsoft push for my work machine.
Edit: Use Linux desktop on other machines.
GameCube. Love the design, controllers were a bit eh. Gameboy SP, very cool hardware.
Happy brother user here. We had a hp and the bastard had connection troubles then ended up only printing blank pages. Never again.
Empire Strikes back. Han Solo being carbonised, Luke skywalker hanging from bottom of cloud city. Just wow. Probably earlier ones but that was stamped on my brain.
It would have been more interesting as an independent activitpub connected service to help illustrate Fediverse != mastodon. Dont really need another twit app though.
Definitely worth checking out friendica.
Hopefully this becomes more normalised. The idea that a company runs their own site, but not social now seems a bit backward.
I think it to assist with discussion of realtime events such as sport e g f1. Trying to navigate posts in such a situation on the classic format was terrible
It your stuff. Keep it or get rid of it when you’re ready. There is no obligation either way.
Case in point. I just gave away a PS1 with FFVII and FFVIII, plus a PS2 with GOW1/2, FFXII. We’re moving house and I packed the PS1 in a box and then I realised right then, I didn’t want it anymore. A switch flicked. Inmy case I didn’t want to sell, just give to someone who would treasure them.
If you no longer have a connection to the stuff, maybe free up the space always good to declutter - but don’t get rid of it just because you think you should.

Wolfballs was what could be called a free speech instance run by Master of Balls… There was friction, but personally I liked that the was a variety of instances if not the content.
Exploding-heads run by Kapow is the closest in vibe and a spot where some jumped to.
Master of balls left an exit note here which pretty much sums up the vibe, stored on the fedirama community https://lemmy.ca/post/390398
No Lemmy ettique missing as there wasn’t enough of a community to form anything. I had no issue with the smaller size and all the usual posters I’d see and chat with have dispersed with the larger array of content.
But now you don’t get people signing up, talking about the lack of content and disappearing. Or servers set up in hope and shut down - eope.xyz caw.ai Jeremmy.ml or ones that ragequit fapsi.be. And of course wolfballs.
Even if most go back to reddit it will still be an improved space with the servers and communities that remain I think.
Closed beta sounds fine.
Yeah it’s detrimental that approaches used in other apps don’t render in mastodon. It weakens the potential of the fediverse, and for those that understand fedi = mastodon. Who knows how it will react to proposals for groups etc.
