48 seconds at those temperatures is no joke, that is pretty amazing. I didn’t see the article elaborate on what the current limiting factors are for pushing beyond 48 seconds. Like I wonder if it’s a hard wall, a new engineering challenge, a tweak needed, etc. this is the reactor that set the last record so they are doing something really right.

I’ve used a duress password with crypto containers since the old TrueCrypt introduced me to it a while back. Sure you can have the password and unlock the vault but it’s just text file notes in there that aren’t at all important. In reality though, no one would ever give a shit about my data enough to even ask me my password.

Wish I had an answer. Had an older relative that was like this. Others say he was always like that and he died miserable. I thought the movie was pretty good and it’s based on a book that doesn’t answer the questions that the viewer is asking. That is part of the story l, not REALLY knowing what is going on. It’s like the whole theme, not to know for sure. It mentions the military in the final scenes so we have a guess on what they are up to.

At this point Taiwan has been independent for a good long time so it’s probably time to recognize that. This comes down to what the people in Taiwan want. I’m guessing they are good with the current situation as it keeps tensions down but sooner or later they are going to have to make a hard choice and the US needs to back them on it. Either they vote for reunification (unlikely but you never know) or they unequivocally identify as not-China and completely independent. In the second case the US and world should be prepared to back Taiwan. What will actually happen? Well, if I were Taiwan, I wouldn’t want to piss of a neighbor like that who is likely to go psycho when you officially breakup. It’s like ripping off a bandaid. I would be terrified of what China will do no matter who is baking me up. Taiwan will have to make a choice sooner or later but I completely understand their hesitation.

Venezuela borders Guyana to the west and the Essequibo river is in the east of the country. From what I can tell Venezuela is looking to take over Guyana. Are you sure they are taking it seriously? I’ve watched a bunch of Ancient Aliens and it was fun entertainment so long as it is recognized as just entertainment. The main voice in the show makes me fall asleep so I’ve technically had most episodes play across my screen. Me and coworkers make comments regularly that “it’s aliens man” as the reason for things. None of us see it as more than humor and maybe that’s the case with your people.

I think my expectations are just super low on a real response. Moscow is pretty notorious for doing dumb shit and then waiting to see what happens. I really struggle to envision a NATO asset firing on a Russian vessel…no matter how egregious the Russian activity.
