Even tractors are tracked by the manufacturer these days.
The high prices for used tractors are only for the old ones in specific nostalgic colours, like Grey Ferguson. Nobody wants a blue Ferguson?

A lot of car thefts are just kids taking them for a thrill ride, trashing and leaving it.
Nobody wants to steal a tractor, but yet they do get stolen just as often as any other vehicle, because they’re easy to unlock and start.
The GTA games got that part right.
The section “other people also search for” is complete garbage.
I was searching for a used car part in my native language and Google mistook it for a name. No, Google, other people do not search for "car part net worth and marital status ". Why are you showing me this crap?
Yes, it has been observed that IMDb sometimes get a lot of new “single post users” putting in 10/10 ratings on Disney movies that otherwise scored badly.
It appears that the colours are not on a fixed scale. The season averages and individual episodes are coloured using different ranges.
It ranges from lowest to highest regardless of the value. Like conditional formatting in Excel does if you don’t specify the scale.
The seasons average ratings range from 6.1-8.4, so it goes red to green in the span of 2.3 points.
The episodes range from 3.9 to 9.3, so it goes red to green in the span of 5.4 points.
The full IMDb ratings range from 1-10. This should have been used as a basis for the colouring instead. The overall average on IMDb is somewhere around 7, so it would be fine to skew the colours so the middle/yellow was at 7, but it should be able to represent any possible ratings.
When I started working in the late 90s early 00s, every company had their own It-department. These days it’s just some consultant or subscription to another company offering their consultants to do specific tasks.
This thread reminds me of why having an IT department makes good sense financially - today.
You can add up all the salaries, equipment and training costs and it’ll still be cheaper than wasting time and money in meetings with consultants trying to either explain the task or moan about pricing.
Shit doesn’t work, because they aren’t paid to make shit work.
I can make code that works for me and I can make code that works for you. The price is different, but you also need to know what you actually want it to do, and I don’t know how much money you are willing to sacrifice for us both fumbling around in that equation.
Link is broken.
Honestly… clean code can be hard to read. It’s sometimes easier to recognise certain parts in shitty code because it has a more distinctive appearance.
I believe you mean social sciences. They do that by indicating statistical significance or deviation.
Humanities, like philosophy, languages and arts don’t use formulas all that much to describe their work, but it could probably be done using a similar statistical approach for some things.
Name the cell “myPi” and use that instead of the Pi function.
Can’t you just type in the digits of the Pi that you want to use in some cell and then refer to that cell instead of using the default Pi?
5 is mathematically a “round-up” number. If you want your numbers to behave differently I think you’d be better off using a different function.
Never seen that used in this context, but I’m sure it has lots of names.
The original patent is on cursor though. https://patents.google.com/patent/US3531796
Which is the same as the marker on a slide ruler was called.
Yes , the link I provided also explains the etymology of “mouse”. In short, the invention of a free moving cursor was initially called a “bug”, but since the caret cursor was also called a “cat” they called it mouse. The first mouse pointers were operated by trackballs, so the physical device didn’t resemble a mouse until later.
It’s called a cursor.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cursor_(user_interface)
Cursor is Latin for ‘runner’. A cursor is a name given to the transparent slide engraved with a hairline used to mark a point on a slide rule. The term was then transferred to computers through analogy
He used to drive trucks before his acting career.
Sounds more like a blood circulation thing. Nicotine overdose feels more like dizziness and tingling. If you ever feel like fainting try moving your arms and legs to get blood circulation up again. If it happens often see a doctor.
We need to ring the town hall bell and run the NATO sirens to send a message “you’re all proper fucked if you don’t stop burning fossil fuel right now!”
People are well aware. They’re just waiting for the bells to ring in a total pandemic level lock down.
It keeps doing that. Maybe it’s time for scientists to stop tip-toeing about it.
There are soo many things wrong in this story…
Why are there “get out of jail free”-cards? Why can they be in passed to random friends? Why are people abusing this privilege to run red lights?
But the thing that really grinds my gears:
Why not just accept the ticket and have it cancelled afterwards (knowing your privilege), Why the need to “have them fired” for doing their job? What kind of asshole goes out of their way to do that? Whatever nuisance it is to be stopped randomly is nothing against the time wasted to pursue the person who just did their job. It’s pure revenge hate. That alone ought to be a crime. Lifetime sentence. No appeal.
I’m not exactly sure of the context of the question.
Electricity plants use the excess heat for district heating. It isn’t just wasted. If we could suddenly stop using coal or other combustibles for electricity production, we’d still need to produce energy for heating.
Transport is different though. Gasoline engines are highly inefficient and produces a lot of excess heat that isn’t used even when the heater is on full blast. It’s not much in comparison to power production though, so while it will be more efficient to drive and heat a car by electricity, excess heat from cars isn’t really an issue in itself. It’s the pollution that is the main issue.
