Their government has been trying to keep the issue of aid in the public interest for a reason. Sometimes they might go too far, but I think people underestimate the fear a country would experience if they were highly dependent on outside help. Especially if it wasn’t guaranteed to continue due to changes in the political leadership in the other countries.
As always the headline is somewhat misleading.
To me it seems that it would be worth it to repeat such groundbreaking tests before publishing the results just to avoid such negative press? Especially, if the material in question was relatively simple to produce.
However I know nothing about how this type of research works normally so ¯\(ツ)/¯

I try to focus on being happy and living my own life. These things are civilization level issues, and last 50 years have shown the civilization’s fundamental incapability to face the issue, let alone attempt to solve it at any meaningful scale.
IMO there is nothing wrong with attempting to minimize one’s own carbon footprint, but the futile attempt to push for more significant changes will just lead to disappointment
Couldn’t it be argued that it’s a mistake from reddit to think of themselves as being comparable to platforms that make more money per user?
For example reddit and youtube are completely different in terms of the nature of the platform. Could attempting to monetize an average reddit user to the level of those using youtube might be a mistake? Keep in mind that reddit has much lower overhead for keeping the service running.
The mental image I’m going after is a country that exports mainly wheat arguing that its’ exports should be valued the same as a country that produces complex electronics. The products are at a different realm of complexity. Commodities should be valued for what they are and not be confused with higly refined products.
Such a show could be great, but would also require talented creators to pull off. The current disney shows don’t really strike me as something that would precede such masterpiece.
Perhaps a miniseries from KOTOR. One or two episodes per planet. Might be too generic though.
EDIT: if that’s too predictable, then I guess anything to do with the more or less distant past. There is a long lore preceding what happens in the movies, and it hasn’t been touched on in film/tv.

Posting on reddit felt kinda like lurking most of the time. Here it’s indeed different, as people tend to answer questions etc. that are made in comments.
My accounts only had a couple of hundred posts each, so that didn’t turn out to be an issue. I haven’t yet deleted them, but the edited comments haven’t been restored after a week or so.

Alternative to using a forked version is to use inbuilt browser dev tools to throttle the connection within a tab. In firefox eg: ctrl+shift+c -> network->throttling. That way it can’t flood the server with requests.

If one was to delete the top 1000 comments, then would the older ones be visible?
I had separate accounts for pretty much every community, so they didn’t have too many comments.
One could just mass edit all their comments to contain some garbage with power delete suite. Of course they would have to hurry, as that relies on the reddit api for making the edits.
In 2022 it also just happened that russia was hosting possibly the largest military excercise in recent memory right on Ukraine’s border when the situation turned too menacing. Good they happened to have all those cruise missiles ready as if they hadn’t acted, russia would have been wiped out or something…
Occam’s razor cuts well on the two “possible” viewpoints of this war.
First is that big country sees an opportunity to capture land from a smaller one. In multiple stages between 2014 and 2022. A very limited amount of assumptions that can explain what is happening…
Second presumes that all the occupied areas secretly wanted to be a part of russia, nato is threatening russian territory while not being present, non affiliated soldiers with russian (but not russian) equipment occupy areas, a jewish president turns out to be in charge of a genocidial nazi regime that just has to be replaced with a peaceful one, and finally all of this is best achieved by a 3 day (actually 476) special military operation that has a goal of achieving something, but nobody actually knows what.
