102·5 months agoYes, we do live in a post-scarcity information society. Unfortunately, we will not for much longer. The time to make the most of it has already come and passed. We chose capitalism over sustainability when it mattered most (before many of us here were even born).

Having been in a similar state of mind, many times and also recently: There is more to this, but it’s only what we can manage to make of it. You loved your cat and it repaid itself in multiples, for example. You’ve got to keep giving, but if you do then there will be more that makes it worth it. Just be sure to give love and not hate, because we reap what we sow.

The Taiwanese don’t hold the power, if you’re talking about the indigenous peoples. Taiwan wouldn’t be what it is now without imperialism in the first place. And the Chinese people in power don’t consider their island independent from the mainland, which they also lay claim to. It doesn’t seem like a clear-cut self-determination issue to me.
That’s a part of the rigging, at the end of the day.
Undoubtedly - the SC rigged one on the record, and GA wiped election servers from another after receiving a court request to hold them for investigation - but it sounds like he was just stirring the pot about mail-in votes with this statement.

Yemen hasn’t bombed any commerce vessels. They did launch a few missiles and drones in the vicinity of US military vessels that were interfering with their enforcement, although they didn’t hit anything.
Yemen did reportedly hit aircraft during the first bombing run. In the event those produced any casualties, their air defenses will have drawn more blood in one night than 2 months of their maritime patrols (1 > 0).
