Hey I read about some new device that lets you put work hours in from your sleep! So doing this doesn’t seem far off.

I’ve recently been getting into programming for work. Which of course has got me trying to learn more about AI. I’m still a super amateur. I started with bing AI cause that free gpt4 access and bypassing the 4k character limit by telling bing not to reply until I’m done. Now I’m primarily using free plan of phind and its vscode extension. Which I really like. I don’t use the buttons that write code as I always write code myself and rarely copy paste. Helps me learn. I just like that it’s quicker without crazy character limits.

I did recently see that you can pay for bing AI in VS code. Then it got me thinking if I’m gonna pay then I want to make sure it is for something good and prob not Microsoft. So considering paying for phind but now I am trying to look into what others are doing. There’s a world of products I’ve never heard of like hugging face. So I guess it’s time to start my journey on finding which one works best for me. I’ve recently degoogled myself so haven’t really touched bard but if Gemini proves worth it I may.

Just rambling thoughts from a self taught noob programmer.

Similar to what others said my main thought is how to have unbiased moderation of the content. Since anyone can edit anyone can try to spin their own story instead of reflecting the true idea of the website. If there is moderation to prevent any bias on either side and only allow for the data that viewers can draw their own viewpoint on, would be great but sounds like it would rely on a lot of people to help moderate the bias.

I do not know a lot about how wikiapedia operates as far as their moderation. It seems it’s gotten so big that any topic with more than 1 person interested in it will have people editing out bad content.

With the more niche wikis out there most the people who have interest in them are interested in keeping it honest.

With politics your bringing in a wide demographic with a lot more room for people trying to spin their own narrative.

Yeah and if you hit the button it will hide posts you just read. If you disable hide read posts it disables the button too. But I do agree splitting the setting into two would be smart. He did make it smaller last update and it hides when your scrolling but I get not liking it.

it gives you a bit more appreciation devs who add in functionality to turn the LED off. My fan has that which is really nice, and my portable AC. Even my access points you can change them.

But still so many products with LED that cannot be changed or disabled so I have to use a piece of electrical tape.

Viewing hidden posts was definitely something I used a lot in Apollo!

Even with disabling comment options I do think it would be a nice QoL change to allow hitting the number of votes to vote (ontop of leaving swiping how it is)

My understanding is that the test flight will always be available to test out updates prior to release. I believe right now both versions are the same.

If you don’t find an app you like there are some PWAs out there that are good. Like http://vger.app (formerly known as wefwef.app) that’s really nice and gets a lot of updates. Its interface does look a bit like iPhone but he is working on a layout for android devices.

I don’t believe it’s possible yet. I recently switched to Memmy (iOS TestFlight version) and that one does have it I just noticed!

I still have a bookmark for wefwef cause I do love it and want to watch it get better but using Memmy as my primary for now.

Congrats on release! I’ve had problem deciding on a primary app for fediverse and I think Memmy might be it. Sorry you had issues with Apple. Hopefully it’s smooth sailing from here! Keep up the good work.

Agreed. I love wef wef but still has some weirdness being a web app. Memmy is my favorite installed app.
