Things are getting worse because Boomers keep voting for people who campaign on fucking over anyone younger than 65.

Turn out for one of the parties punching down on them? Can’t imagine why they haven’t done it. Total fucking mystery.
Why do people assume individuals are planning on defending themselves from the full force of the government? There’s a whole chasm of situations between “The power structures in place leave me in peace” and “The power structures in place have decided to move with their full weight against me specifically.”
No we’re not ok.
On the one hand moderate and liberal voters, the DNC, establishment Democrats, centerist corporate news stations, past presidents and Biden himself are talking about how dangerous Trump is. He cannot be allowed to win.
Okay, sounds serious. Serious enough to make some big moves in order to get the votes necessary to win by a comfortable margin? If you check out Biden’s insistence on continuing to ship weapons to Israel the answer is “no”.
And really this encapsulates the problem with so called moderates and liberals. When faced with a choice between left or right when the center cannot hold they just fuck around, stall or outright sabotage leftist efforts. Effectively cementing a rightward victory and then blaming it on leftists.
It’s pretty pathetic how often they play this game and considering they actually do seem sincerely worried about Trump it’s bewildering why they aren’t seeking more cooperative efforts with leftists and progressives. They remain steadfastly confident stern lectures, as if leftists and progressives owe their votes, are all that is necessary.
We don’t talk about bubble jet.

Yes write off rules get complicated fast. People generally agree with the very simple example I’ve given but all you have to do is ask “What if you bought a drill while building the fence?” and you’re gonna trigger a whole host of opinions.
But I think sometimes people only see the complicated examples and think “write offs are a scam got it” so I think it’s important to provide an example where most people would generally agree it’s not. It helps people realize there’s some nuance to the discussion.
That being said: Tax the fucking rich already.
I’m seeing a lot of complicated explanations so I’m gonna go with a simpler one.
Say you build a fence for somebody and they pay you $1000. You have to report that income to the IRS. Let’s say the tax rate is 40% so they say “Well you owe us $400.” But instead you provide them with receipts saying you bought $500 of supplies in the form of lumber, screws and such. You have “written off” your expenses and shown the IRS you really only made $500 so you only owe $200 in taxes.
They’d rather move to the right or lose to fascists than compromise with leftists.
I’ll say one thing for Trump, he got the pro-corporate trash DNC to show their true colors. Hopefully they slide so far right they make the Republican party nonviable and it opens the door for a new party. A leftist party. It’s time.
As someone who voted for him in 2020: I don’t.
If you only want UKers answering your question then say so in the first place.
You asked the question bud. Not my fault you don’t like the answer.
What you mean like the fucking Boomers who keep voting for these pieces of shit? Yeah I agree.
I mean, call me whatever you want. It’s irrelevant. Do you need my vote or not? If you don’t then ignore me. If you do then pay attention.
This whole idea of class struggle being the only struggle is so oversimplified it’s kinda silly.
There’s nothing wrong with a simplified model if it gets you the results you’re looking for. And for the vast majority of the working class thinking in simplistic terms such as capitalist vs. worker would improve their lives tremendously.
The more complex models might be useful for explaining how things change and evolve. But mainly complexity is introduced by capitalists (or capitalist simps) to sow discord among workers and keep us from organizing effectively.
Boomers want a war.
I actually think that the biggest damage the parents of the Boomers committed was glorifying their war stories. Don’t get me wrong, I probably would have too so I’m not saying this out of judgement. But I think the Boomers grew up feeling like the only way to prove themselves was to fight as hard as their parents did. And when there weren’t any Nazis to be found, they found fights with anybody they could.
… including their own children.
Yes blame the “youth” when the average age of our politicians is 65. Makes perfect sense.
Maybe if Democrats were willing to use the aid for Israel as a bargaining chip they’d actually have some leverage.
Trump isn’t winning the Republican primary.
Shhh don’t tell people they’ll ruin it.
