Sounds like you should look at a few years of https://thedailywtf.com entries. Enough to make the staunchest man (or woman) weep.
It’s not really necessary to include indexOf()
twice in the “Additional Methods” section.
I don’t see much points in your page, when something like MDN is available, but I also feel stupid because I didn’t know that the forEach()
method existed, and it appears that it is ancient!
Several years ago, we were given clothes by a woman whose husband had died. I still wear some of them, and we refer to one of the shirts as “the dead guy shirt”.
I don’t think that off-ease laptops are very good as they are sold. The batteries are often on their way out and so that’s an additional expense (and some, like Macs, are very expensive to replace).
There are some incredible deals on off-lease desktops, though. Most modern computers are way overpowered for what the average user needs. You can get a perfectly serviceable machine for doing email, serving the web, and office work, for $100 or less. Just don’t expect to play any games released within the last five or more years.
We have ways of making you talk: a historian and a stand-up comedian explore the nooks and crannies is WWII. Insightful and entertaining. I’m still enjoying it after 600 episodes.
I second this. I have learned four languages aside from my native English, and Language Transfer is easily the most natural and effective system I have ever used.
My wife has a lot of trouble learning languages, but she found Language Transfer very effective as well.
It’s completely free and relies on donations. I have been a monthly donor on Patreon for about 5 years now.
page load
It would be fine if they only loaded a partial page so that it will render in my browser quicker.
However, what usually happens is that the entire page loads, then an overlay pops up to get me to register or pay, or whatever.
Being a web developer, it’s not hard for me to inspect the page and remove the overlay so I can read everything, but it is an annoyance.
I think you mean Brainfuck.
Some people don’t think it be like it is, but it do.
The Pakistani chef at a restaurant I went to ask us if we wanted it “white people hot” or “brown people hot”.
I was listening to a podcast that suggested the main reason the Nazis wanted to kill Jews is because they felt that the rise of Christianity, originating among the Jews, was what weakened the Roman Empire and caused it to crumble.
For their own empire, modeled along Roman lines, they didn’t want the same thing to happen.
In the Pulitzer prize-winning book “The Soul of a New Machine”, Tracy Kidder writes about a microcode programmer having to deal with timing in nanoseconds. One day his desk was empty and there was a note on the monitor saying that he was going to live in a commune, and no longer deal with any duration shorter than a season.
Peter Gabriel’s Secret World 1993
That must be true, because all of the courses I mentioned are taught by the same person, who also developed them!
Sounds just like the Language Transfer system it’s the best language learning method I’ve ever encountered, and I speak five languages.
It’s a set of MP3s, using a kind of Socratic dialogue to teach language based on the language you already know. Completely free, but please donate if you find it useful.
Language transfer has courses in French, Italian, Greek, Turkish, Arabic, Spanish, English for Spanish speakers, German, Swahili, and even one for understanding music theory!
Except that phenylephrine has been shown by multiple studies not to have any effect. It’s only there as a replacement for pseudoephedrine, which does work, but can be used to make meth.
It could be that this is a habit left over from pascal, where result is a reserved word, and is automatically made the return value of the function.
If it is in the context of a short function, I don’t see that it’s all that bad.
My wife pointed out to me a couple of years ago that I was simultaneously the oldest person on our Dev team, and the youngest person in our church.
