That’s a real shame but it says a lot about the motivations of politicians and the fear they have of education. If I ran my own school, I’d be reaching out to him to hire him.
Sometimes two hours.
Well, imagine someone opening the door if the water hasn’t fully drained out and the ensuing mess. If you’re wondering if someone is stupid enough to do that, then the answer is unequivocally yes. There is a reason the door locks for that amount of time - so somebody doesn’t brain fart, open the door, and flood the laundry room.
This doesn’t work because of the decentralized nature of lemmy. Once it’s posted it is there. You can delete it from your the instance that you’re on but it won’t immediately - if at all - take effect on other instances.
This is exactly what I am getting at!
Well as they say, every dog has their day. It could be that the driver is just having a shitty day and we all have them. I try to be empathetic. As long as the guy isn’t spouting out hatred and biogtry, they’ll just get a reduced tip. I’ve been known to give even bigger tips to delivery drivers that are just plain awesome.
Given that gasoline is high and many pizza places pay pathetic sums of money, I always give 30% unless the driver was just plain rude and then I reduce it to 20%.
Coca Cola will vary in flavor between product made with high fructose corn syrup and natural sugar.
The idea of developing a community discovery protocol as a subset of ActivityPub is a really good idea. Something similar to DNS could work but the problem lies in that DNS is fairly centralized and controlled. Look at what we have now with the political shit show that DNS has become. I think a whole new protocol would have to be developed to facilitate this. A community discovery protocol might share community lists between instances in a federated way for example - maybe much in the same way that ban lists are federated.
I am absolutely fine with this! Outside contact is necessary!
I only like the color gold because of its implied value.
Bullshit! It is alarming!
If you see someone steal from a big box retailer, no you didn’t.
This was quite a few years ago. It was 2008 so things might very well have changed.
You’re neither champ nor chump. But I would advise you to be a little less rigid because some laws SHOULD be broken. I even had a judge once tell me this. I was arrested for a misdemeanor for providing food and water to the homeless when I was living in Arizona. I was careful not to resist knowing that this fight belonged in the courtroom. At the time I could not afford a private attorney so one was assigned to me who advised me to plead guilty and accept the fine and 30 days in jail. Thankfully, the judge overseeing my arraignment simply dismissed the case out of hand. His words were
Off the record - Young man, some laws are meant to be broken. I applaud your for choosing the right one. On the record - I am dropping the charges and dismissing this case. Furthermore, I am ordering that the arrest record be sealed by the court. This young man presents absolutely no danger to public health, safety or morals. In fact, he did the very charitable thing to help those in need and this is an American value that has no business being criminalized. I do not see making employment difficult for him based on a charitable act.
My advice to you. Get the compensation structure in writing and have an attorney go over it. MLMs will find any reason to fuck you over.
I understand your moral qualms because I would have them myself. Are you an actual employee of the MLM and be paid as a W2 employee? Or are you being offered equity in the company? How are you being compensated is what I am getting at. MLMs by their very nature are legal scams. Most operate out of Utah because Utah is legally friendly towards that model of operation.
Same here!
