As someone in a country that shares a land border with the Americans, I am increasingly concerned about the instability (and likely violence) that will accompany that impending collapse.

I hope sanity can prevail, but it’s looking pretty bleak.

No one single “-ocracy” applied exclusively can result in a well functioning society.

IMHO, you need bits from multiple different approaches blended together to get closer to a society that works well for the majority of people.

The ground pin in a north American outlet, at least, isn’t actually grounded. It’s just a dedicated circuit that goes back to the neutral line in the circuit breaker box. It doesn’t go to the ground there, either.

Except is special circumstances the ground connection on outlets does go to a separate ground bussbar inside the panel ( as well as acting as the chassis ground for the panel).

That bussbar is typically connected to the neutral, but code requires it to also be connected to an actual earth ground.

I’ve flagged several suspicious looking but actually legit emails that were originated by internal groups but used very scammy sounding language (warning of dire consequences, extreme urgency, links to external websites as reference to something claimed to be internal process…)

Hopefully those departments sending emails like that get some education too…
