Yea, hire a bunch of underpaid undertrained peons to take support calls from the rest of your underpaid untrained peons. If an exec has a problem they get to bypass the helpdesk and go straight to someone that knows what they’re doing so they never see how bad things are. $$$
Couldn’t they just *2 all the bills from before this was ran and straighten it out?
Yea, it is one of the worst things I’ve ever had to use and I had to use it a lot. It wasn’t even supported by our IT team. Somehow HR went around them to implement it themselves. Which made it even worse because there were a shitload of problems at the start that any tier 1 help desk agent could have told them would happen if they’d bothered to ask for help.
A lot depends on the implementation and how well the devs that worked on your instance did their job. Some stuff they built into ours works great and I appreciate those things. A lot of it is really half assed, inconsistent with other parts, and people who process things are nitpicky as fuck about actually doing it if you didn’t submit it just right (and they didn’t bother to validate inputs to make sure you do). Overall it’s slow and bloated AF when I’m trying to run reports which is mostly what I use it for.
Agreed. Everything on 1 page, submit, done. I had to use Workday at my last job and it was fucking atrocious trying to get anything submitted in because it was all step by step bullshit.
Pop that sucker into a blender and you don’t have to worry about how it looks. Mmm Mmm placenta milkshake.
I was a supervisor of a call center up until recently and yea, this is definitely coming. It’s was already to the point where they were arguing with me about hiring enough people because soon we’ll have an AI solution to take a lot of the calls. You can already see it in the chat bots coming out.
I have insurance but every time I go to a doctor they always still manage to make it cost 100+$ and thanks to their incomprehensible medical billing codes I don’t even have a way to budget for it if they decide to do some test that costs a lot and insurance comes back saying it’s not covered after the fact.
I’m mitigating the alcohol thing by only using it in majorly stressful times. Normally I don’t drink as much.
You didn’t mention exercise before but I do weight lifting and various forms of cardio. I’m in very good shape physically but those do not help at all with my sleep. Medication requires going to a doctor and that’s too expensive.
I do breathing exercises and they do help a little but not usually enough to get to sleep or stay asleep.
Due to personal circumstances, my nervous system is on constant alert and years of training did get it down a bit but one bad experience makes it spike 10x.
Same. Just started a new job too and my shit has been going nuts. I’m not even struggling with anything my body is just freaking out for no reason. I try not to rely on alcohol to deal with it but when it’s really bad sometimes that’s the only thing that works and let’s me level out. I will probably quit for a while after I get through the new job nerves though because I’m definitely drinking too much the last couple weeks.
Having a drink before going to sleep at 9 Is better than laying awake until 2 am tossing and turning for 3 hours and getting up at 5.
I almost fell for the last one they did. It was disguised as a link to a shared item on teams that that asked for your creds and I assumed it was another shitty half baked Microsoft thing that single sign in wasn’t working on. The only reason I didn’t log into it was because I was like “fuck it I’ll just open it from teams instead” only to find that it wasn’t in Teams.
I did a hardware upgrade for a hospital a few years ago. People let me in all kinds of sensitive areas just because I had a PC in my hands and knew someone in their department’s name. The only time anyone bothered to verify I was supposed to be there was when I was doing an install in the maintenance guys’ office.
Some people aren’t trainable.
So all this effort for this trial and his only consequence is he loses 1 vote? Great. Love it.
