Where did the OP say it was fine? It looks like they simply corrected misinformation. There is no need to poison the discussion.

I hate that you’re getting downvoted. This is good information. I appreciate the contribution.
No, not at all. These communities overwhelmingly support Palestine and think the US is enabling the genocide. There are a few posts where support for Israel is highly upvoted at first. I’m saying those seem influenced by bots or PR campaigns. I’m wondering if this post is a similar situation. I don’t understand why you were so heavily downvoted.
There are some posts that always seem unbalanced considering the communities voting history. This seems like one of them. Do the mods or users have a way to check on bots?
Isn’t this all based on Israeli accusations? As we know, Israel can’t really be trusted
Just to be clear, they are destroying Palestinian homes, farms, businesses and cultural centers along the border so that no one can live or work there any more. They are calling it a buffer zone.
They could have put the buffer zone on their side of the border, but Palestinian lives and livelihoods are worthless to them.
Yeah, it wouldn’t surprise me if there were sexual assaults by Hamas. They should be investigated by third parties, let the UN come and verify them. I’m sure the IDF is doing their fair share of sexual assaults as well. Unfortunately, we can’t really trust Israel to tell the truth. They just lie for the same of propaganda.
This seems more like the beheaded babies story, just Israeli propaganda
I wouldn’t mind if the Israelis wanted to move to an island. Sounds like a good solution actually.
But it would be doing the right thing by placing the security of the Palestinians and neighboring countries above all else.
It seems like the state of Israel is threatening the security of the whole region. Better to get rid of Israel for the security of her region.
To add some nuance, he didn’t necessarily censor criticism, but would not work with reporters who publicly signed a letter criticizing Israel (I think I’m reading that correctly).
I hate how Israel goes to extreme measures to censor criticism, but it seems like there may the issue of a reporter making that criticism public and then reporting on the matter. Any controversy about motives could detract from the actual issues at hand.
I’m not making any comment about the appropriateness of the decision, just trying to provide nuance.
Biden admin again bypasses Congress to sell military equipment to Israel :

And I hope Israel will end this war soon.
Ftfy, the passive voice is too weaselly.
One side spends billions on weapons and military power used to oppress the other. One side has created an apartheid state that stomps on throats of millions of people. Both sides are not the same.
He’s sending them weapons, how is that not supporting the genocide?
Cut off their welfare payments, stop sending weapons!
I just had a comment that was critical of Israel removed due to “misinformation.” Is anyone else getting that? Is that a mod decision or something automated?
There is no Palestinian genocide. If the Israeli government wanted to commit a genocide, they would be doing it a lot more effectively. After all, there are many ethnic Palestinians who are Israeli citizens; if there was a Palestinian genocide, those people would be getting killed, efficiently and systematically. They’re not.
Israel is committing genocide at a rate low enough to avoid too much criticism from their protector states. It’s a long-term strategy that will take decades to complete.
Israel has really upped their genocide game in the past few months and are finally feeling some push back.
Israel is patient, they have no need to hurry the genocide along. The long, slow process is just fine.
Yeah, that is probably what I miss most about Reddit. Science articles have really deep discussions about the topics there. Here, the comments are mainly just one or two jokes and an asshole or two with a superiority complex.
The fediverse has some really good tech discussions. I hope we can get more scientists soon to elevate those discussions.
