How dare you accuse me of chicanery!
If you’re not careful I’ll shit in your lake, and steal all your money.

In other news; Hannibal Lecter has been accused of being a “mediocre dinner host”, and Buffalo Bill has been accused of having “poor fashion sense”.
28!!!
No wonder people on their 20s are so pissed off with politicians, life is so hard it ages them an extra 20 years.
I particularly like the ‘quiet part out loud’ moment where this Tory grandiser admits that they are all self-serving bastards who have been getting away with it, because they had the mask of competence.
Sadly the mask has slipped to reveal the baddie, like a dystopian Scooby Doo episode.
Y’know… because of the implication.
One of these situations where you look at the source of the story and it’s a basic outrage-headline-for-clicks site. I’ve never heard of skwawkbox outside of lemmy, where do they advertise?
I figured it’s better to know the reason than not.
That is fair enough, but the thing to do when you are told something like you are being de-selected is to ask for confirmation from the party within a reasonable timeframe. Not go out and have a rally with your supporters and the press to tell the world how disgusting you think your party leadership is.
Edit: although now she has been selected maybe she did exactly the right thing, for herself, even if it was at the expense of the party.
Great maybe now she’ll shut up and do her job for a bit. I won’t be at all surprised if the next time she starts mud slinging she finds herself with another suspension and permanent removal from the party.
I very rarely downvote people but @RobotToaster you are just posting the most gutterish drivel. We get you don’t like Labour but if you insist on posting here please try to elevate the quality of your sources and commentary. 57p for the graphic sounds like the sort of bargain we need after 14 years of corrupt Tory contracts.
Diane Abbott is constantly attacking Kier Starmer and the party based on hearsay. Keir and the Labour Party have conversely said nothing but nice things about Abbott. People are always comparing Abbott and Elphicke, who was allowed to defect in order to damage the Tory party but not stand in the next election, where is the comparison here? Abbott is just vindictive, self serving and has lost any political nous she may have had in the past, she should retire before she destroys her legacy completely.
Well some reports suggest they were trying to suggest she retire at the next election, looking at her decision making over the last 12 months it might be a good idea.
She did attack the Labour Party and Kier on Twitter last September saying her suspension for antisemitic remarks was “fraudulent”.
She can’t air grievances in public and expect that not to affect the outcome.
Given the media storm she is creating right now I can see why they would want to keep her quiet for as long as possible.
How can they select her when she is publicly criticising the party leader and processes at the worst possible time.
Something I don’t understand, Dianne was told by a newspaper she was being de-selected, then instead of asking the party she went on a press tour telling them how awful the Labour leadership is. Labour leadership say it’s not true. If it wasn’t true her behaviour has just made it almost certain that they can’t select her, as she is putting herself before her party. If it was true she should have waited for confirmation before disrupting the campaign.
Initial reports of the Tory plan is over multiple weekends so no accommodation, unpaid, mandatory and punishment for non compliance.
Basically slave labour under the guise of community and service.
People turning 18 this year have the lowest wages to housing cost ever, house buying is a distant dream for anyone without £100k+ from the bank of mum and dad, and mum and dad have been squeezed too, most middle class families do not have that sort of money available per child.
Buying a car is beyond the reach of the vast majority, fuel is at record prices and insurance is mandatory and has increased well above inflation. 18 year olds are looking at average insurance of £3000 or 10 weeks of working full time at minimum wage.
The social contract for young people in the uk has been broken, if you are not already wealthy or incredibly lucky you cannot afford to live a fulfilling life. Children, holidays, personal transport, home ownership all out of reach.
Before forcing people to fight for their country, you need to make it something worth fighting for.
If a between A-Level and university 6 week PAID training position in the military were offered, where your housing, food, basic training are provided, and you are able to save some money at the end of it, would probably be a good policy.
Totally agree the ‘good chap’ principle really doesn’t work these days where we have such a corrupt and dishonest government willing to sabotage their opposition at the expense of the country.
Personally I like the more meme style videos, up until this last week the LabourParty shorts and main channel videos have been very dry, boring policy stuff presented in a way that is just not engaging to a YouTube audience. Don’t get me wrong I really want to have the information contained in the videos, but you need to engage with your audience on YouTube, if they are not entertained or effectively informed, then the chances of them clicking on another video is very small.
Labour has a lot of information available on their policies and there was that 6 first steps last week. The election was only called 5 days ago, and I don’t think any major party has a full manifesto published yet.
Maybe we can have memes and politics?
Oh good, now we just have to wake up from the Brexit nightmare.
