  • Boba Fett came back in the books which… aren’t cannon, but a lot of the cooler elements have been borrowed and shoehorned in (ie Thrawn)

I didn’t have a problem with it. I just think the show fumbled that story pretty hard.

Kenobi… man. I was excited, but honestly… the fight with Vader just fucked up so much of the continuity for me. You knew nothing was at stake because they’d have to fight later in ANH. Also, it completely invalidated Vader’s while tirade about “last time we met, you were the master” because Vader effectively kicked his ass. It was a meh story that didn’t need to happen IMHO

  • That “woke” shit is so fucking stupid. Rogue One has a pretty obviously gay couple and that movie is universally loved. One can even make the argument that when the empire was in charge that OF FUCKING COURSE gay people wouldn’t be out. It’s even cannon that the empire was racist towards non humans.

If the stories are good, fans will eat it up. That some reprobate is butthurt because a main character isn’t a straight, white dude is the dumbest shit.

Conversely, I hope this series is good, because if it isn’t, I won’t want to talk about it and inadvertently join the chorus of those mouthbreathers who are all screaming go woke go broke when legitimate criticisms with that show have NOTHING to do with that

  • Some of that shit is fucking dangerous. At the height of the EPO (EPO being a hormone which increases red blood cell production and makes the chuckledick system more efficient) era of pro cycling, the rumor was some pros had to wake up in the middle of the night and get on a trainer because they’d gotten their blood so viscous that they risked getting clots of they stayed in one spot too long.

Also, if you do it wrong you’ll absolutely fuck yourself up. Riccardo Ricco Basically gave himself kidney failure because he infused blood which he’d kept in fucking mini fridge.

It’s not like elite athletes aren’t already on weird shit normal people would never consider… they’re on plenty of gear but what’s allowed is already regulated. A lot of pros toe the line, some in better faith than others. The line is there for safety and because it would be a headache letting things be a free for all. People would get hurt and plenty of prospective athletes would be turned off if you have to be dangerously juiced just to compete

  • Seems oddly progressive until you take into account the high percentage of Florida’s population that’s retirees and boomers who are probably heavily medicated.

Just goes to show that Florida’s regressive legislators know what side their bread is buttered on. We always knew that Republicans don’t actually believe in anything besides staying in power at all costs, but this is interesting in that someone crunched the numbers and came to the conclusion that they had to actually appeal to the voter base instead of allowing their constituents to be fleeced by pharmaceutical companies who undoubtedly lobbied against this. Hopefully this is just the beginning and causes inflated drug process in this country to normalize a other states adopt this
