I’m an app developer. My company makes an iOS version, and it’s damn near impossible to deal with Apple’s shit.
Imagine buying a piece of hardware and actually owning it.
Look up ADHD and “Auditory Processing Disorder”. I believe there’s a decent overlap between the two.
I’m ADHD (inattentive type, so just ADD I guess).
This all checks out. The audio processing disorder part is particularly frustrating. I can hear everything perfectly, but can’t focus on a person speaking because my brain will give equal attention to every other noise source around me. I feel like a robot trying to solve a captcha when I process speech.
There’s a LOT of symptoms and traits to ADHD. Perhaps find a list and run through them. Like, do you find that stimulants have an opposite effect and actually calm you down? Do you naturally sleep several hours after everyone else? Do you fidget and jitter when idle? are you “time blind”?
It’s funny how when I jumped to DDG a few years back, I felt like I was sacrificing the quality of results for better privacy.
These days you get the best of both.
The Melbourne demographics has changed wildly in the last 15 years. I’d suggest visiting first to make sure it’s still what you’re expecting.
It’s 16°C in Melbourne at 10:30AM right now.
1ml of water is 1g.
Here’s a Starbucks Espresso marked as 2g of protein per 100ml and 4.4g per serve.
The best example is the slab ‘o’ Coke from Woolies.
Sugar is marked as 10.6g/100ml and 39.8g per 375ml serve (yes, stupidly large), and 24 serves in the pack.
Syrups are typically sold in grams. But 200g of sugar and 100ml of water would be more than 100ml of total product by volume, and 300g by wileight. If anything, it would be labeled 66% sucrose because it’s one third water.
Australia does this right. Everything has a percentage.
Nutritional panels have:
Alcoholic beverages have “standard drinks” per bottle which factors in ABV and volume.
I can quickly see that a drink has 9g sugar per 100ml and know it’s 9% sugar. Easy.
I think adblocking is the best thing I’ve done for my children.
I ignore the “top 3” brands because they’re full of ads, and practically a wiretap at this point. Surprisingly, the mid-tier brands don’t invest in selling the consumer as a product.
You may get a decent experience from a top-tier that’s kept offline, and using a media box that you have more control over.
I’ve found that response times are an important spec. TVs now are mostly < 10ms (about half a frame at 60Hz). I have older TVs where it’s > 150ms and audio goes out of sync and video games are unplayable. I suspect the cheaper TVs fare well here too. They don’t do as much postprocessing.
This is the first thing that comes to my mind when someone mentions towel washing frequency.
I once worked in retail electronics. TVs and PCs ran at 5% margin, while cables and connectors ran at 90%. Some $20 cables were worth $1.
Identity is irrelevant. The separation exists so that women get fair competition.
Women as in someone who was born as, and always has been, biologically female.
Open means everyone, unrestricted.
We’re talking about placing them alongside knives and forks - both of which are pointier.
