Horrific! This is so bloody traumatising

Create a fund and use the dividends to fund free healthcare. Rather than spend it all in one go, I want it to continue generating a stable fund to keep things going.
And unfortunately there are fresh breakups every day. So for some it’s been a while but others it’s been 24 hours.
We knew and yet it’s still so infuriating
Agreed, plus it increases engagement and comment count.
And then there’s eutherians (placental mammals)
I had trouble with sync so I uninstalled and came to lemmy
In all the places I’ve worked (currently working in corporate\office) we’ve always acknowledged each other. Weird not to. But some people are strangely reserved I guess or maybe won’t say hi unless you instigate it?
The LSE research suggested that landlords are moving away from letting to low-income households in favour of higher rents.
Researchers found 40% of landlords who had rented to low-income tenants have reduced their letting in the last two years. Tenant and council behaviour and the benefit system, as well as increased costs, were cited as reasons why landlords stepped away from providing temporary accommodation or homes for homelessness prevention.
Homelessness increased by 26% An estimated 3,069 people spent the night sleeping rough in 2022, an annual increase of 26%, the biggest year-on-year rise since 2015 and 74% higher than 2010, the year these statistics were first collected.
Not me but a friend worked at a start up that was acquired by a bigger competitor. The new CEO stated in their first company wide meeting that he believes the ideal employee is a ‘unicorn’. One who eats, sleeps and lives in the office working long hours. CEO laughed at people who asked about their benefits which were being reduced to the minimum (this is the UK so we have minimums but the startup originally had unlimited holidays etc). The CEO took over the board with a misogynistic vibe, all women left and then the guys followed.
Oh, when I posted, I only saw one other comment (so I’d thought I’d add to the comment count). I’m still new to this federated thing, maybe I can’t see all comments?
Was a lurker on most subreddits, a lot of things I wanted to comment likely had been said so I would just upvote them. Whilst right now (still getting my head round the instances), I feel more inclined to comment when there are low comment volumes.
I agree it’s a cop out to a bigger committment but it’s better than no action at this point. Anything we can do to increase public transport, I’m all for.
Not doing this for the money - as a long time lurker on Reddit, I’ve since jumped ship to Lenny and I’m looking forward to seeing this community grow. London is already melting pot of different people, traditions and cultures - I hope this community reflects that!
Microplastics are in breast milk too. Our babies aren’t safe from it either.
